That makes absolutely no sense at all but yes, if you must know, I'm trying to see how fast I can spend all our money and have to live under a bridge.  I've had a spot on Hwy 80 picked out for a long time.  Wow, I could never ask such a question or make an assumption like that of anyone.  It's like NONE of your business, right?  If it is your business, please explain how.  My mother taught me it's bad manners to ask anyone how much something cost or if they could afford it and that is basically what you're doing.  Naming a fragrance what it is supposed to smell like doesn't work either.  Banana Milkshake???  Uh, not even.  Don't worry about our finances.  We're doing very well financially.

I think Demeter does a good job with the description of their fragrances.   Also the reviews on their products helps.

My personal favorite is Rain.

Re: Perfume Descriptions...OY!

personally I've never had good luck buying perfume without smelling it.ingredients and fragrance notes smell different with everyones personal chemistry. The only time I have been successful with a blind buy was with Jo Malone Wild Bluebell. It smells really good on me but subtle. A closeup fragrance.

I have never understood how anyone can buy a fragrance without smelling it. Makes no sense to me at all, same with a candle or anything that is being bought based on the smell.

I 100% agree that I do not purchase perfumes without smelling them first, especially as some of the prices are quite exorbitant, and I can be a bit picky, but I do purchase

HomeWorx candles here on QVC all the time without knowing the scents, and most of the time I am very, very pleased.

Of course, it is much easier to regift a candle than an open bottle of perfume!!

Re: Perfume Descriptions...OY!

Okay, I had to laugh about sending one's husband to the poorhouse!

Many women earn their own money, and make much more than their husbands (partners), if they even have one.

This is a SHOPPING forum--of course people like to share what they are buying.

No wonder young people do not gravitate here if they have to put up with such old-fashioned thinking.

Do you ever watch the shopping videos young girls post of themselves unwrapping their multi-thousand dollar purses and showing them off to the cyber world?

I NEVER share the majority of things I purchase with anyone except my husband, and he does not even see everything--nor would he bother to keep track or care, because jewelry, make-up, and women's fashion are very, very low on his interest scale.

As a career woman I know if I want something, I have to figure out how to pay for it!

However,  I am too lazy to bother trying things online and returning them--I still have a few great malls nearby where I can see everything in person.

I do have to say I would rather smell like Cherries Jubilee than Bananas Foster!

@monicakm  Like you, we don't have the opportunity to buy many of the items locally and it does make it difficult to decide. I really wish there would be an opportunity to buy testers of colognes and fragrances, something similar to the tester cards in magazines back when magazines were popular. . . too bad the QVC magazine is gone.

For context, I don't buy full size bottles of perfume.  I buy the 10ml travel sizes for a few reasons.  I have a full size of Kayali's Musk 12 and Kilian's Princess (after buying two of the travel sizes).  Oh, a full size of Dior's Miss Dior Bouquet (from the pre-Covid era).

Re: Perfume Descriptions...OY!

Years ago I bought a couple fragrances. Never smelling  them, from a posters recommendation here on the boards. I don't remember her name, but I would hug her if I could.  I was lamenting about an old fragrance called Grass Oil by Jovan, from the old days I loved. She recommended a couple one of which was Marc Jacobs Grass, from his Splash collection at the time. I bathed in that stuff so good, and very similar to grass oil. Now, I am at a cross roads.  Marc Jacobs stopped making it years ago, I stalked up, and am on last bottle.  Still good.  They sell it on eBay, for 300 bux, but it's gotta be old

so I am asking, anyone know of a fragrance like GRASS. BY MARC JACOBS? Hopefully same poster is around
