Perfect Formula Pink Gel Coat

I recently enrolled in this autoship. Love the Pink Gel Coat and the strengthening nail formula.  However, the additional "polish" does not apply smoothly...leaves streaks even with 2 coats.  I followed the directions to apply the polish to a bare nail...no base coat.

Has anyone else experienced this?  My nails are looking so much better after the abuse for so many years of acrylics and I would love to be able to use the polish.

FYI I have also had this same problem with other brands such as Revlon gel polish.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Maybe you are putting it on too thin.  I have two coats of the taupe on right now and there are no streaks.

I have the same issues.  The only ones that go on smoothly are the red and taupe for me.  It will look awful at the base of the nail if you really load the brush and put it on heavier.  I had to put on 3 coats of the other colors I tried to even get a half decent look.  All should be  as covering as the red as a think coat gives full coverage.

I've never tried the polish because of the awful reviews.  I love the pink and clear gel though and wear it plain.

I recommend Sally Hansen Miracle Growth Treatment, the one in a gold bottle with gold top, fabulous for rebuilding nails.

Re: Perfect Formula Pink Gel Coat

I LOVE Pink Gel Coat so much, but Perfect Formula's color polishes are terrible. I bought a set of minis last year - 3 Pink Gel Coat and 3 colors. The colors were all terrible. They were streaky and needed too many coats to be opaque. I ordered the last Pink Gel Coat TSV that came with a color and it was also streaky, so that's 4 for 4 in the failed colors for me. I do love the manicure bag and the Pink Gel Coat and tools that came with the TSV, so that one was still a good value, but I won't be making a habit of buying  Perfect Formula colors.

I like Perfect Formula, made my good nails great. My only issue is the unnatural color the pink takes on bright sun. An eerie looking purple. Creepy ....

Like the clear better for that reason.

Try using one coat of the Pink Gel Coat and then one coat of the clear polish over the pink. That will give you a lovely nail and tone down the UV effect outside.

Or use the Pink Gel Coat under a sheer pink polish. That will give you a beautiful American Manicure without any effort. (And American Manicure is a less harshly stark white tipped version of the French Manicure.)

I was terribly disappointed. The color polishes are the worst polishes I have ever purchased.  Just awful.

Re: Perfect Formula Pink Gel Coat

Recently, I googled how to apply pale nail colors without streaking. I was having that problem with all my pale colors....two coats just wasn't giving coverage.  What I learned was using a matte base coat is the fix.  I have yet to buy a matte base, but intend to try and see if this is the remedy.  I think OPI and Essie both have the matte one.
