@MissSugarKane wrote:Do you think they went and raised the price because people are realizing it is being discontinued and are stocking up? Seems really shady.
I am actually kind of thinking so. :/

A couple of months ago they did something similar. They had a weekend where everything was either 20% or 15% off. They specifically stated a date and time that the sale would end but then ended the sale a day earlier. A lot of people were really upset and it caused a firestorm of negative comments on their Facebook page. They ended up posting a promo code on their Facebook page for the percentage off, but if you didn't see the page you would have never known about the promo code. At the time, I thought this trick was really underhanded and slick. It's so sad that Paula's Choice is operating in this manner. Not much integrity.

I seriously doubt that that debacle was purposeful. And I may be incorrect, but I swear I recall getting some notification or seeing something on their site.
Sometimes "stuff" truly does happen.

@sueeich I remember that.
I never had any desire to try lines other than Paula's Choice but discontinuing my favorites and then these small little sneaky sales tactics are turning me off. Maybe it is time to explore other lines.
When I complained about the price of the Calm line versus the size you get I was told by the end of the year they would be raising some prices to match the Calm lines pricing.

@Iwantcoffee wrote:I went to Paula's site and noticed the Earth Sourced kit is $14.45 for full size cleanser, toner, and moisturizer.
When I read this I jumped on it and ordered 4 sets as I've used these for years. Thought it was too good to be true and probably a mistake as all of the sale products at that time were $14.45 which didn't make sense. I see now the sale prices have been corrected. Wonder how much money they lost before discovering the error. I did also notice that some of the products are on sale for less than $14.45 (including one of the self tanners I bought) so perhaps they made up a little on those.

I watched the video for Paula's Choice Retinol product
A280993
http://www.qvc.com/A-D-Paulas-Choice-1-Retinol-Treatment-Auto-Delivery.product.A280993.html
and Paula Begoun looks good but give me a break already. Her smooth forehead is due to the fact that she regularly has Botox injections in her forehead. It's not a secret and I admire Paula for being open about the various cosmetic procedures and plastic surgery that she has done.
It's disingenuous to imply or infer that the retinol product is what is responsible for no lines there even without saying as much.I expect such sales pitches from QVC hosts like Shawn as they are doing their job but I expect more from Paula.

I hate it when a product I love is discontinued. I use PC products, but I do not use Hydralight or Moisture Boost. I am glad you were able to stock up. Hope you find something else you love to replace it.

I am running low on my skincare. In a couple of weeks I am going to need to buy more. I am currently using PC's Resist line, but it is too strong for me. I am going to order the new Calm line for dry skin. I will get the kit for $129.00 when I get back from visiting my mother in Florida for two weeks.
My skin gets really sore and irritated by some ingredients. I thought I would die from pain when I used PC's Resist 10% AHA lotion. It burned and stug my face so bad that I could not wash it off fast enough. So, I am hoping this new Calm line might help me.

I'm disappointed to see that the new normal for her products is now to put them in smaller containers. I loved that fact that her toners were good sized 6+ ounce containers. But now to see the newer lines are using just 4 ounce at the same if not higher prices is disappointing. The skin balancing toner is on sale 15% so I decided to grab some now before they start using the small container for that product too. Her products are still fabulous and are usually better prices then other higher end lines so I'll continue to use them.

I agree, the smaller sizes for a higher price is disappointing but, as you said, I still think they are great and a reasonable price- especially for as long as they last- so I continue to use them too but come on! ![]()
