For years I have been calling philosophy directly to ask when they are taking the parabens out of their products. As of this morning the answer is "that with the new products they are stearing away from that". There was no answer when I asked why they don't reformulate their older products. I am a Pure Grace user who now knows that Pure Grace is anything but pure. With everything that we put on our bodies being absorbed into our bloodstreams, the powers that be from philosophy should be ashamed of themselves.

Ladies, I just checked my Pure Grace Body Lotion. There are 5 parabens in it. All 5 are known to be cancer causing. I checked the Body Butter and that seems to be ok. Val

While I'm all for avoiding parabens when you can, they have not been proven to cause cancer. I think it's fair to say they may be linked to breast cancer - but there's also evidence that they may not be.

Sorry I just don't get this paranoia about parabens, just another way to sell more products.

^This. The internet has brought lots of good things but one bad thing is knowledge without context.

I would rather have parabens than mold in my beauty products! "Several years ago, research published in the Journal of Applied Toxicology found an ingredient called parabens in 20 human breast tumours. Parabens are preservatives used in many cosmetic products (including antiperspirant). The research stated that parabens have been known to act like estrogen, which can speed up the growth of breast cancer tumours.
The research did not show a direct link between antiperspirants, deodorants and breast cancer. Though the findings are interesting, the study was small. More research is needed to provide answers about this issue."
