Hey girl! I can't find the thread right now, but I wanted to thank you for your very kind, loving words.

I can't even imagine the heartache & fear you went through with your son. It's FAR worse when someone you love is sick or has a major health scare, versus your own battle. Yours was a matter of life or death with your baby. What a horrible time you must have suffered through.

Speaking of battle, while I was going through my own I didn't come to the forums. I had my hands full fighting the battle of my life. So, you wouldn't have known.

I too have become a huge prayer warrior with many large prayer groups far and wide. My mission is to advocate for young women stricken with this disease- to urge them to take time to breathe & always, always, ALWAYS get second & 3rd opinions. I help them too by providing a list of questions to ask their doctors. Most monumental is to educate themselves as much as possible to the various treatment options. Too many oncologists treat this disease the same as hormone positive BC-- which is a totally different beast!

I was appalled by the lack of knowledge by oncologists-- which drove my decision to self-admit, requesting a team of cutting-edge top experts at MD Anderson, very specific to this disease. I knew who I wanted to see after hours of research- the pivotal point in giving myself the best survival advantage. I prefer not to think of the potential outcome had I not been my own advocate & not received that third life-saving opinion and treatment plan.

Thanks for being uniquely caring, compassionate and a lovely woman all the way around.

Above all, Thank God your son survived. Again, I can't fathom the anguish you suffered not knowing if he would make it. Like I said, it's always far worse when it's someone you love... especially your own child!
