The Fair/Light isn't yellow at all, so that might be a good choice for you. Problem is I don't think the stores carry it yet, but you can find out. I had to bet the Supergoop people for a sample -- got an email back from the CEO saying she was passing it on to "Sofia" to see if they could find one around the office -- and they did. :-)
That's the beauty of the Korean BB/CC products -- no yellow! Abysmal zinc percentage, though, which is why I was thrilled to find the Supergoop.
yes but you must wonder why their skin always ages really well for the most part. There has got to be something to that, besides genetics and lifestyle, when they are all pretty darn fair.
I'm not sure if the point you're making is that abysmal percentage of zinc or not, it's obviously working? If so, I'd have to agree. I'm just insane when it comes to zinc, and I'm sure that their mix of sunscreens gives really good UVA/UVB protection. But I just can't be rational when it comes to this. :-)

Plus with Birchbox I could get 20% off and use points I've had saved up. I could end up only paying $5 for it, lol! Maybe eventually Sephora will get the fair/light instore soon so I can try the different color.
I didn't know QVC sold it! No way would I pay that price (well, yes I would if there wasn't any other choice). In addition to the S&H -- I pay almost 10% WA State tax on the product + S&H.
What shade do you wear in Missha? I liked #21 the best, #13 was a tad too light. The Supergoop Fair is good on me, just not with the Tria Tan.
As to the orange scent -- so that's what it is! I like it, but if you don't, definitely stay away (even though it's pretty light).
#21 is a perfect match for my skin. I love it. Probably the best matching product I've ever used. I guess that is why I keep going back to it. One thing I really like is that I can use alot (which I do when I don't wear a sunscreen underneath) or little (when I wear a sunscreen underneath) and it never looks cakey or turns a darker shade. I have even started using it on my eyelids and I haven't had an issue with it irritating my eyes. Works great.
I don't mind orange scents but I just figure if I could smell the orange, that probably means it would be too much orange in it for my skin to handle.

It's true -- I love this stuff!
It's Supergoop CC Cream -- 20% zinc so I'm in hog heaven. It offers lovely coverage (similar to the Missha Signature BB, IMO), lasts all day without breaking up, leaves a satin-y finish as opposed to shiny as so many high zinc products do.
There are a couple of reviews on Sephora, maybe Nordstrom -- not sure where else it's sold.
Shade is very forgiving -- Fair/Light, Light/Med, Med/Dark. I got samples off eBay and ordered the full size from Nordstrom (as the shade I wanted was backordered on the Supergoop site.)
Worth the try if you'd like to wrap up your sun protection and foundation in one, and even if you're not concerned about sun protection, it's nice stuff!
I've got samples of the skin79 on the way. I'll compare it to the Supergoop you're sending. If I at all like the Supergoop, I'll be ordering it due to the sun protection. What shade are you sending? I think it might have been Susie that said the shade she got a sample of was really yellow on her.
I'm sending you the Fair/Light (since you're a Missha #13, right?) The Supergoop people had to hunt one down in their office for me. I think the Fair/Light is a fairly recent addition to the lineup, as it's not sold on Nordstrom or Sephora yet.
I'm a #23 in Missha. I think Kat wears a #13. Either way, I can tell if the formula and coverage will work for me. Thanks:-)
For some reason (age? confusion?) I thought I was responding to Kat. :-) You're getting the Light/Med which I think you'll like. Ditto with the Andalou "sheer" tint.
Thanks Maren:-)
Myshell which one did you send? I am really confused about keeping up with the sunscreen posts. Sorry Maren, but it all befuddles me. I know Supergoop CC is good, right????
According to me, all you need to remember is zinc is good. And the Supergoop stuff you got is chemical = not so good. Good protection, I'm sure, but I don't like chemicals (and am actually convinced they don't do as good a job as the zinc).
Yes, and the Supergoop CC (or is it BB?) is what I'm currently ga ga over. That's what I'm sending you, in the Fair/Light.

I don't think I've ever seen a more beautiful product on my skin than that Missha #21. If I could find a Supergoop with no color with the same zinc, finish, etc., I'd use that and the Missha over it. But Supergoop doesn't have such a thing. :-(

If we were in school I would have my hand up, waving, saying "pick me, pick me", lol. The Asian countries (Japan, China and Korea) feel that good skin is more important than skin mu or mu products. They are way ahead of us using all kinds of clothing and umbrella's to protect against sun damage. I mean like bee keeper hats that cover the whole face and lines of clothing that protect. They have more steps in skin care than we do, there is cleanser, toner, serum, emulsion, cream, sunscreen and then the mu with SPF protection. They use more natural products than we seem to use. Like flowers, roots and berries plus glacial water. A huge percentage of their products also promote a whitening effect because they can never be white enough. They also love the snail slime. I noticed that they have a lot of facial mists, some for blemishes, some for moisture and some to set mu. They have all kinds of products for blemishes, cleansers, toners, blemish patches, masks and pink powder blemish cream. They have masks for everything, face, eyes, noses, chins, necks, declotte's and they are in everything you can want to smell or eat. Honey, milk, berries, aloe, carrots, broccoli, celery etc... Even mouth sprays in mint and fruity scents. On ebay Japan sells a lot of our products that are made for them like Shiseido (?), Biore etc... China sells a lot of Korean products so I am not sure if they have their own brands. They may be the ones that are super cheap and I skim over them.

HappyDaze - I am so sorry, my dear, that I took a few days break from here so obviously didn't see this thread until now. You might remember me mentioning that my keyboard has gotten really annoying to use (certain keys actually) and I had just had it so took a complete hiatus. The good news is that I bought a new laptop at Walmart (I never, ever shop there but saw one advertised online and went to a local super store to check it out.) It's an HP, basic but nice, and it was under $250 - that was the best part. Now I just have to set it up and am hoping I won't have any issues with that. I'm not a complete tech idiot but am no guru either. The laptop I'm on was set up for me. Anyway, enough about that topic.
Bummer but my sampler set hasn't arrived yet. I am surprised it is taking as long as it is as most of my eBay buys arrive pretty fast. My first question for you is how is the shade match-up? Skin79 is a "one fits all" (shade adapting technology) aren't they? I am looking forward to getting them so we can compare notes. The oddest thing happened with this seller on a powder I was interested in. She had the BIN price at $117 and change and I e-mailed her asking if that was an error as I could see loads of prior purchases of the same item all sold around $15 - $18. She emailed me back and said when she is down to only one product left, she raises the price like that until she gets more stock. Isn't that strange? At least I thought so and it appears she does it on all products when down to just one remaining. Just odd. She certainly seems like an excellent seller otherwise.
Do you recall me asking about suggestions for really hydrating mists here, a few weeks ago now? Well, I saw the Tatcha Mist on eBay for just under $40 and decided to splurge. That is definitely more than I usually will pay for mists. Wow, is all I can say. It is so different than any other mist I have used or tried and I am so glad I went for it. Instead of the typical water based mist, which really evaporates pretty fast off the skin, this has an algae oil that really adheres to your skin. It lasts for hours and hours and finally, something that makes my skin look hydrated. Loveee it! It is a very fine mist that works great both over and under makeup and I know already that I am addicted to it. Because it has such lasting power, it really will be cost effective as it just doesn't need to be applied that often. I have to stop picking it up every time I walk into the bathroom - I'm just so enchanted by it.
Sorry, if I went on and on about this mist but I have so longed for one that really made a difference for me and Tatcha's blows it out of the park. I can see it actually working very well as a stand alone moisturizer for those with normal skin.
Living in a dry climate, water evaporates off the skin so fast that it actually seems to magnify the problem when using many mists. These ingredients are so different than most mists and after one use, that is super obvious. I know you also have dry skin so couldn't not tell you about it.
Feel free to post your thoughts ahead of me, if you'd like. It looks like mine won't be here until at least Tuesday.

HD - one other thought I wanted to toss by you. I saw some commercial for sunscreens recently, focusing on the fact that skin cancer is on the rise as compared to certain other cancers and I couldn't help but ponder about the possible part that chemical sunscreen ingredients might be playing in that.
When you think about it (and this is solely my take) as the use of chemical sunscreens has increased over the last 30 plus years, so has the rate of skin cancer. The appeal of tanning started in the 50's yet little was really available in the way of sunscreens. The rate of skin cancer back then was also much lower than in more recent years, when primarily the use of chemical sunscreen ingredients simultaneously grew and grew.
As I think about it, I can't help but think there may well be some connection. My parents generation, for example, was one of the first to really spend time in the sun, at beaches, pools, golfing and just generally being outside with very little in the way of true sunscreens. That same generation also appears to have had a notably lower skin cancer rate than more recent ones are seeing - connection or co-incidence?
It has puzzled me for awhile why certain countries seem to be experiencing such an increase in skin cancer while other countries, many with much greater sun exposure and far less use of SPF's, don't seem to be having these similar increases.
Just my brain puttering around ................
Thoughts? And please feel free to tell me my brain is a bit off kilter - it won't offend me.

Here's an interesting piece on tanning -- it actually started coming into vogue in the 1920's, thanks to Coco Chanel. When I grew up during the 50's, our mothers were still wearing gloves and hats, but I think that was more a fashion than a conscientious effort to protect against the sun.
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sun_tanning
After a couple of decades of buying sun products whose sole purpose was to promote deeper and faster tanning, they came up with PABA (in the 70's?) . The claim to fame was to block UVB rays (no nasty burns!) but let the UVA rays through, so we could still acquire a "healthy"(!) tan. :-)
Then SPF, which as I've been screaming about, is ONLY a rating against UVB rays -- it was still believed UVAs were pretty innocuous. Then the FDA finally approved a UVA product -- avobenzone. Joseph Segal, the QVC founder, brought it to QVC in Hydron and it was the first I'd heard of it. For a long time, I could only find it in the Hydron or a couple of Avon products.
Yet the FDA still used the SPF rating -- still no UVA protection info, and the general public STILL believes if it has a high SPF, they're safe. Makes my blood boil
THEN they discovered avobenzone degrades in the sun, so started whipping up other chemicals to help with the protection and stability. By the way, avobenzone offers NO UVB protection, yet it's in almost every chemical-based sunscreen.
I don't understand the resistance to zinc. It used to be because of the lifeguard nose look, but it's come a long way. It protects ALL spectrum of UVA and UVB. Titanium, which everything seems to contain, protects against the UVB range but only two of the three UVA rays. Literally, zinc does it all!
I understand I'm over the edge about this, but people just won't listen and believe they're fully protected when they're not. I hold the FDA responsible for not educating the people and bringing the sun rating system into this century.

Maren, I don't think anyone is resistant to zinc as much as you think? I don't get that impression at all when talking with others about it so I'm not sure why you you think that? The only reason I personally am cautious about it is because often too high of zinc irritates my skin. That is why I like the Andalou CC- it is one of the few with 20% zinc that doesn't not in any way irriate my skin. There are quite a few people that cannot tolerate zinc at a higher level like that. But I don't think anyone avoids or resists it for any other reason, not that I can see anyway.

I feel that way because people continue to use sunscreens with chemicals, MINIMAL zinc (if any) feel that Titanium is the same as zinc, etc.
Plus, there really is a hit/miss process in finding one that is pleasing to wear.
I should probably rephrase -- not resistant to zinc, but indifferent, not really realizing the benefits.
I wish I could find a definitive answer to what percentage of zinc does the job. One Derm said "at least 10%" -- so is 10% enough? Is more better? Can't seem to nail that down, but going by that, I kinda feel that 10% is a good starting point if you're not going to be out frying in the sun all day -- runs to the store, to work, etc. But that's just IMO.
That is a valid concern -- the reaction. They always make zinc sound so innocuous "they use it for diaper rash!" but there are those (obviously) who have their limit. :-)
That being said, I wonder what it is about Andalou's that causes it to be non-irritating for you?
And I applaud and bow to you for your continuing search, lots of people would have given up. Seems like your effort was rewarded?
