Did you ever get the Jay Manuel Powder to Cream Foundation to work for you? Does it still settle into fine lines/pores? Thanks.

Hi Icegoddess;
I kept it and used it daily for a short while and then returned to my other various foundations. Simply because I can't decide if it is my Holy Grail foundation or not ?
The color is spot on, but I find it a tad dry and it does seems to cake just a little more than some others I wear. Not much, but I can notice it. Perhaps because I have extremely dry skin that I constantly have to moisturize.I also am not sure if it has that pearly luminescence it claims. I have been using others that you purchase by themselves and brush on after foundation, and I think some glow a bit more. (Not that I want a sparkling face, lol !)
Having said all of this, I'm also not yet entirely sure if I love it or not. I guess the jury is still out ! I go back to it after a week or so and try again. Just can't decide, it's close, but I am a perfectionist!
Perhaps I expect too much from Jay because I like him very much as an artist and have followed him since I first saw him on Next Top Model. I have very good skin, but
it is very thin and very fair and I want great coverage. I guess I expected it to look like their models as some of them don't have great skin but look great in their photo's he takes !
Anyway, I think it is a good product, I'll use it all up, but don't know if I will purchase it again or not. I have tried a couple of his other products back in the past.
There are SO many available now at QVC and elsewhere. Finding the right one can take time and money.
What are your thoughts and experience with it ?
Thanks for asking ! I appreciate you doing so and would love to hear your thoughts and others who use his products.
Have a marvelous day! (or night.)
Blessings.

I haven't tried it. I was just considering it. I don't need much coverage. I usually use a BB or CC cream daily. but, I am wanting the illuminated look. Cakey kind of scares me. The Tarte BB cream does that to me if I don't add an oil to it. I don't have particularly dry skin.

I'm going to try Jay's powder-to-cream foundation. Reason being is Iman has a concealer using the same formula in her drugstore cosmetic brand which I tried and like. It takes a few times putting it on to get used to the idea that the powder is going in an opposite direction of what we are accustomed to. I kept applying too much. Now that I know what amount is sufficient for around my eyes it's pretty easy to use, and because it isn't settling as a powder I don't have to worry about powder creeping into fine lines and touching up. Iman's concealer doesn't seem to be suitable for covering heavy darkness. The Iman concealer container is very small, but as an experiment I did use it all over my face once, and it was a nice look.
I also want to try Jay's foundation as a show of appreciation for someone who FINALLY broke down the generic complexion groups of fair/light; light/medium; medium/tan; tan/dark into degrees of color within those groups. Of course offering that many foundation colors is not new because pretige brands such as Lancome, M.A.C., Bobbi Brown to name a few have done this for years. However, with the exception of BareMinerals, offering as many shades of foundation as Jay does on a shopping channel is groundbreaking.
