PTR Fusion PM vs His 3% Retinoid Plus

[ Edited ]

I used to use the Fusion PM.  Don't recall why I stopped but it's been several years ago.  Last time I was in Sephora, I was given a sample size of his 3% Retinoid Plus.  My face and I are LOVING it!  It's exclusive to Sephora.  I was just wondering what the main differences are?  It's spendy! Smiley Sad  $82 for a 1oz bottle.  Anyone here use it?

Here are the ingredients...

Cyclopentasiloxane, Isononyl Isononanoate, Dimethyl Isosorbide, Dimethiconol, Hydroxypinacolone Retinoate, Ceramide AP, Ceramide EOP, Ceramide EOS, Ceramide NS, Ceramide NP, Sodium Hyaluronate, Sodium PCA, Glycerin, Tocopherol, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Phytosphingosine, Caprooyl Sphingosine, Hydroxyphenyl Propamidobenzoic Acid, Ethylhexylglycerin, Ethylhexyl Hydroxystearate, Cholesterol, Water, Pentylene Glycol, Butylene Glycol, Behenic Acid, Hydroxystearic Acid, Ceteareth-25, Polysilicone-11, 4-t-Butylcyclohexanol, Cetyl Alcohol, Phenoxyethanol. Phenoxyethanol.

Did not know that he has a three percent Retinoid!!! Wonder why he hasn't tried it on the Q??? Maybe too expensive...there are other brands on the Q that are very costly!  Hmmmmmm...

Wellll, according to this site, it's NOT 3% retinol/oid.  I just know it's helped the look and texture of my face and got rid of some blemishes.   It's a Sephora exclusive...which  I really don't understand why they chose to market it like that.

I'm not a scientist, but the retinoid plus does not contain retinol.  Rather it uses retinoate, which is supposedly gentler and more light stable than retinol.  I read somewhere that percentages of retinol and retinoate in serums are not directly comparable, i.e. 3% retinoate is not the same as 3% retinol ( I'd hate to use 3% retinol - my face would hate me!).  Anyway the new product may be good for those who cannot tolerate retinol.
