QUESTION.  I use a primer before foundation; but what if I'm not using foundation and using a tinted moisturizer instead.......would you still use a primer?  If yes, would you put it on before or after the tinted moisturizer.

@molly and me - If I'm putting on a tinted moisturizer, I do not use a primer.  If I were to use one, I'd put it on before the tinted moisturizer.  When using a tinted moisturizer, I use it after all my skincare which includes my regular daily spf moisturizer.

I'm wondering what you beauties think is a primer that really works to fill in like Laura Geller says "spackle" for the pores/wrinkles.

I tried hers years ago and sent back.  My older dry skin would like some kind of primer.

I am returning the First Aid Coconut Primer/Moisturizer Duo because it did the opposite for me.  Drying and accented all the wrong things.  Very disappointed. Cat Sad

Any moisturizer, tinted or not, is designed to be applied directly on clean skin. If you use a primer first then you'll be defeating the purpose of using a moisturizer b/c the moisturizer can't get to your skin where it needs to be in order for it to be effective.

I use a tinted moisturizer as a foundation. I apply it after all my lotions, potions, moisturizer, and primer. I don't use it as a "moisturizer" I use it like a foundation.

I have never thought of using it like @Sugipine  said of using it as a moisturizer. I am such a dork lol

@molly and me

Like others, if I'm using a tinted moisturizer I do not use my primer. I have very very dry complexion or would if I didn't keep it super hydrated.  You can go on eBay and order a small trial/ sample size of hourglass mineral primer. I look for sellers with a lot of sales and a high customer rating...99.7% is my personal limit. Something that small will probably be free shipping. Or you can order it from Sephora and if you don't like it return it for free. I don't have wrinkles, I do have some crinklies under my eyes when I smile... they are not wrinkles!🙃  I also don't have visible pores to deal with. This primer is perfect for creating a silky canvas on my face before foundation.  I can't remember if I tried any other higher end primer but I did try two from the drugstore. Elf and... I can't remember the other one. Hourglass also makes other primers but this one works great for my complexion so I don't have any desire to try the others. Oh I did try the milk Hydro grip sticky primer and that was a disaster. We're all different, isn't it great that we have so many options from which to choose 🫠  one other thing I can say is that I would never wear foundation without primer. In my younger years when I had an oily and normal complexion I used the Monistat chafing gel that was the exact same thing as the original Smashbox primer and more than half the price.  I got that tip here in the 90s

@molly and me - I agree with everyone else. I use Laura Geller Spackle as my HG primer. However, when I use a tinted moisturizer - I like bareMinerals Complexion Rescue, IT CC Cream Illumination, or Ilia Super Serum Skin Tint - I don't use sunscreen or a primer before.  Smiley Happy

I wouldn’t call any of the IT CC creams tinted moisturizers. Nonetheless, it depends if I’m using it as a moisturizer or as a foundation.

@monicakm, YOU are the BEST. HOPE YOU ARE DOING WELL!! Take care and have  a great Fourth. Our plans are to stay in back yard. Beaches here are jammed. Terrible traffiv. Calling for temp today (SAT) to be 100. If the temp doesn't kill you the humidity WILL!!!. Playing terrible havoc with my migranes. May need to shut myself in a room and be quiet. Have you tried new "WEDDING" perfume.? Still LOVE Ellis Brooklyn. Wish she would do perfume in Sand and Sun.  HAPPY FOURTH TO YOU and YOURS. SLIGO

Thank you again dear @sligo !  I can confidently say that my sciatica issue is better today. Still need a cane to walk but that's better than a walker.

Had my pedicure today but I'm going to have to go back on Monday for them to touch up or redo the big toes. They are totally Orange instead of orange Fading Into hot pink. The rest of the toes are hot pink. We may be spending our holiday looking for a new refrigerator. I'm not mad about it. I love shopping for new appliances.  Tomorrow's high is supposed to be 89. Not mad about that either LOL. I'm so sorry about your migraines. I've never had them but my brother did for years and years so I kind of know what you're dealing with.

I don't have the wedding fragrance yet. Tracking says July 5th. I always get my packages one day earlier but that's the fourth so I don't know.  it arrived in Arlington this morning, ( just the other side of Dallas). I guess it's possible I could be here Monday.
