They don't have to wait until after Thanksgiving, but even for someone like me, who enjoys the holiday themed shows, before Labor Day is a put off. I haven't watched any of them.

Thanksgiving napkins are in the HomeGoods store in my area. Halloween merchandise is out covering several aisles. Hallmark has its Keepsake Ornaments on display (the elephant musical one features ""I Want You to Want Me"" performed by Cheap Trick! - the ""Frozen"" ones will be here in October). Merchants need revenue to exist and they cannot wait until the season if they want to survive. Not in this day and age.

There is another one this week. An all day getting your home ready for the holidays. I think it might be tomorrow?

Once Q does the Christmas in July programming, they are full steam ahead. It won't stop until they are no longer offering guaranteed x-mas delivery. Then all the decorations come down and you will have no idea it's x-mas. They will have moved on to other programming.

It's no different than fashion for next season being sold before it starts. I don't want to wait until the last minute to shop or pick up decorations.
