PERFUME FROM SHOPPING CHANNEL...??

I was thinking of buying Lancome Miracle perfume for my daughter.   I tried it in Ulta, it lasted alllll day, and I liked it.  I even got a compliment later that day, and I had washed it off my wrist!

I see it on hsn, and theres 20% coupon, but mixed reviews on quality or lasting power.   So, my concern is...could shopping channels carry a cheaper version, made just for them?  Not sure if a small savings is worth taking a chance.  What's your thoughts?

I don't think the company would risk making a lesser quality item for a shopping channel to sell more product.

I would say ‘yes’ there are different formulas for different venues.

Dooney & Bourke, of course not a fragrance, produces different

quality of bags for the home shopper. IMO, as little as 10yrs ago

I wouldn’t have said that, but times have changed.  Just like outlet

products are produced specifically for the outlet demo.

Why wouldn’t fragrance be any different?

Re: PERFUME FROM SHOPPING CHANNEL...??

I have purchased Miracle from HSN.  It was not watered down at all.  I actually used the coupon as well.  I really like the fragrance and it does have "staying power".  The fragrance that I have purchased from HSN at least five times is White Tea by Elizabeth Arden.  It is a fairly new fragrance compared to Miracle which has been around a long time.  I always have people ask what fragrance I am wearing and how fresh and feminine it is.  I highly recommend it !  You can't go wrong with either one.

keep in mind as well, that fragrances smell different on different people.  i think it would be really difficult to choose a fragrance for someone else, unless you knew that she likes that particular scent.  i think that were all picky to some extent with that. in my world, there are just so many places i go, that fragrance is not appropriate.

@Dazlin The fragrance is the same. You are perfectly safe in ordering it. It will be the same. Dooney bags, for the record, are the same, too. Myths abound on these boards.

@Dazlin  Let's hope cosmetic cos. would not be able to do that.  Make sure the 20% is honored on the fragrance.  If not, check Macys or Nordstrom to see if they have any sales.  You can also check Lord & Taylor too.

@Goldengate8361

Outlet merchandise is different. Thought everyone knew that.

Televised shopping merchandise?

The FTC was specific with Outlet, but with the volume QVC/HSN has, stands to reason name brand items are formulated differently to meet that volume at a lower price.

Re: PERFUME FROM SHOPPING CHANNEL...??

@sidsmom...appreciate the info..I tend to believe it too.

I have heard Vicki Teil say she makes perfumes exclusively for hsn, (just example).   But not sure about Lancome doing that.  Anyway,  this duo I ordered has a smaller 1 oz which I plan on trying on myself...I'll go from there if it's not what I tried from Ulta.   I'll surely be ******, and everyone will hear about it!

I will also mention...I order Benefits Rollerlash from hsn, and it's just as good as store bought.  So I guess, if we're willing to take a gamble then give it a try.  Sometimes all this speculation is just too time consuming and often aggravating, so Id just rather spend the extra.   What made me decide to order was it being a duo...one for me, and larger one for my daughter 😊, and a coupon.
