Oxidized VIT C serum

How do you know if your VIT C serum is bad/oxidized and can't use it? I had my NCN VIT C stored in a cool place unopened and when I looked tonight it looked like It leaked out of the bottle and outside crystallized. It was fine when I stored it about few months ago

does this mean that it can't be used? 1/3 of the bottle leaked

Has it turned a dark color (brown)? That is one sure sign that it has broken down. My understanding is that once open, a bottle should be good for no more than 3 to 4 months without losing potency.

Seal was intact but could tell that pressure was built up because when I opened it was like it was carbonated..color is darker yellow and never used this brand so don't know what the original color is. I was finishing up my other serum so I didn't need to open it until now. I think it is wasted

you know how it is...you try to buy your goodies when they are on sale whether you need it or not because eventually I would be using it but lesson learned

That was very nice of you to respond to my little problem you know how it is...you try to buy your goodies when they are on sale whether you need it or not because eventually I would be using it but lesson learned I just can't pass a good deal thank you crisso!

Yes if it is that color it sounds like it has oxidized. Is this the one with a pump or dropper?

I don't know how long you've had it but she has now gone to a dropper system due to issues with the pump. Perhaps you can email the about the issue if it hasn't been too long and see if they can replace it?

I don't know how long you've had it but she has now gone to a dropper system due to issues with the pump. Perhaps you can email the about the issue if it hasn't been too long and see if they can replace it?
