I've been eyeing these on HSN, not for jewelry storage, but possibly for makeup storage. I'm currently using JM's Beauty Cases for my makeup, which have served me well. I'm using each separate pouch to house lips, eyes, foundation, etc. However, I'm running out of space, and I saw the Jewel Kit Duo when I was on .com searching for more beauty cases.
I'm drawn to these jewelry cases because I would be able to further organize my makeup collection by arranging the dividers to group different sub-sets (such as keeping lip glosses separate from lip sticks and lip liners and lip balms).I also thought it would be nice to sort my collection according to brand - which I would be able to do with the removable dividers.
Does anyone use the Jewel Kit duo for makeup and/or skincare storage? Have you found it to be a practical solution? What drawbacks have you encountered? Are the storage compartments easy to wipe down and keep clean? Sorry for so many questions, but I appreciate any useful replies from folks who use these kits for alternate purposes.

Reba - thanks for your detailed response. I hadn't thought about the issue of storing palettes, but that would seem a waste of space to me, as well. Do you store them stacked on top of each other (laying down) in the compartments, or do you lay them on their sides and store them length-wise? I wonder if that would make a difference?

I bought two when they were on sale and I use one for makeup storage and I love it. The top part is all my makeup that I use daily and the bottom if all the stuff that I either use for special occasions or very rarely. I also store my smaller face products in there that I, once again, use only a couple days a week. I don't have a ton of makeup so that might make a difference but I love it for makeup storage. For the first time in my life, I can take the storage kit out of the cabinet each morning , open it up, and see everything I own at a glance. Love it!! Finding that I also use my special occasion makeup more frequently now as I can find it easily. Same thing goes for my jewelry. Can finally find everything at a glance!

Jackielee - I'm glad to hear it works for you! I'm thinking that I would probably fill both cases (top and bottom) with my collection, -although it would likely depend on how the pieces fit within the dividers, as Reba mentioned.
I like your idea of storing "daily" makeup on the top, and other pieces on the bottom. Do you ever need to wipe the cases out, and if so - do they clean up well? Out of curiosity - what colors/patterns did you buy? I'm most interested in the Teal/Paisley and Black/Damask.

I also realized that I didn't want to have to lift out the top tray to see what I had underneath while putting on my makeup. Too cumbersome, and I have a huge vanity space. The beauty case just works better I think. I do stick my makeup back in my walk in closet when I'm done. Maybe if you were planning on leaving them out and cleared an area that wouldn't be too bad. And if you have tons of makeup (don't we all, lol) and just want to organize it all, they would work for that, but as far as being practical to use applying makeup, it didn't work for me. I have a bunch of junk to organize and decided they would work better for other things. I'm really happy with the cases though. Even my husband said "those look nice".
Yes, the Beauty Case really is one of those miracle products, and I also enjoy being able to roll them up and minimize the clutter of my bathroom vanity. However, I've recently converted my guest room into a dressing room (of sorts) and now have a dedicated vanity that I could use as a makeup "work station", so space isn't as much of an issue.
I'm wondering if this duo will be offered as a TS anytime soon, because as you said, it could be used to organize anything - even if it doesn't serve well as makeup storage. I would be willing to buy a couple sets at a lower price, just to get it home and try it out. And I can see from the product video that they offered free shipping last time, also.

I got the black/damask and use the black for the makeup and damask for my jewelry. I leave the damask on my dresser since it looks so nice. I have had to clean out some blush that spilled out and it cleaned up very well. However, I wouldn't guarantee that they are going to stay spotless after alot of use but neither has any of my other makeup containers.
