On any given day, it would be exceedingly rare if everything I had on my face was from one line or one kit, or even three.
My serums, moisturizers, and sunscreens are all from different brands. My foundation or tinted moisturizer, mascara, shadow, blush, and lipstick are all different brands. I like the NARS eye primer and finishing powder, but most days I don't even wear both of them.
None of my kits are together, but I organize products together or, if I'm traveling, a whole look together - shadow, foundation, primers, blush, lips, mascara all together in one bag.

I purchased a large acrylic makeup box at the Container store with drawers that sits on my counter. I like it because I can add on to it. I can organize my makeup, brushes, etc. One of my better purchases.

I organize things by categories -- primers, foundation, eyeliners, mascaras, etc. If I get a kit, it never stays together because it can always be use
I don't know why I feel the need to keep kits together. It actually takes up more space. I really have to put aside some time to get myself organized!
Why must you if it makes you happy. Perhaps your way is wisest. What if the colors or formulations work best together as received in your kits? I hear Laura Geller say she customizes her kits according to color, Mally too. There are a lot of complaints about some concealers and finishing non-powder finishing powders that play well with each other but are disastrous with products from other lines.
Maybe be you just need a prettier set of clear, zippered cosmetic bags?
I love ive the acrylic drawer towers. You can find them on Q and on Amazo. You can select drawer depth and arrange a custom tower in which you can see what you have, keep your sets together and add as many as you need as you add to your collection.
The only " you should" I want to suggest is that you should periodically dispose of of outdated perishables especially cream foundations and mascara. Painful if you do it all at once but worth it to save your eye and skin health.
enjoy being exactly who you are. If it pleases you it's right for you! It's your stuff!
Thanks for the kind words and advice. With the holiday weekend coming up maybe I will tackle the job of organizing my makeup. Truthfully I have way too much and need to thin out my stash. There is a lot I don't use.
