Re: Opinions on Merle Norman Beauty Products

Thanks for your feedback. The place I found was recently established and they gave me many samples to try. What I find fascinating, was that the sunscreen I had previously tried was medical grade and made me break out. At my age, pimples should NOT be a problem. For cryin' out loud I have enough age related issues.

Re: Opinions on Merle Norman Beauty Products

I used to use a lot of it back in the late 60s, early 70s. They were excellent products. Can you even imagine how great the prices were back then! Pretty white loose powder jar for only $2.00, etc. In those days though, they were expensive to me.Wink

I have been meaning to try MN again, but the store is a long, long drive from where I live, so I just haven't gotten around to it.

I'm so old that I remember when the real Merle Norman was still living! lol

I know a lady who has used MN all of her adult life. She's now in her 80s and has the most beautiful complexion you have ever seen, with very few wrinkles.

Re: Opinions on Merle Norman Beauty Products

I used MN for years and loved it. However, as my skin matured the makeup no longer looked good on me. I started using Estee Lauder and am very pleased with this line. I love that their products are rated and comments made on their website.

Oh, as a sidebar, I use EL foundation too and love it along with their powder. At MN yesterday, they talked me into trying a sample of their cream to powder foundation. I was skeptical, but I figured, oh well, I am only going to the gym so who cares. I tried it. Whoa. First time any foundation has ever matched the true color of my skin. I am not Pink and not yellow. I am sort of.....beige. It matches! I am going to keep trying it.

It is too heavy and perfumed form acne prone, sensitive skin. The results was serious breakouts and the like. I've tried them just this past spring, so I was dealing with their recent formulas.

This is an old, old, old brand that one hardly ever hears about or sees in stores. I mean talk about Avon.

Re: Opinions on Merle Norman Beauty Products

I remember when I was a little girl going with my mom to MN and getting a little lip gloss. This gloss came in a compact and was a pretty neutral color. I remember that it was my first lip gloss and my mom would only let me wear natural colors. I haven't been able to find this shade since. It was the perfect my lips but better color for me.

Seems that the OP saw it and wants to hear more about it.

I used it many years ago. At that time the skin care products were outstanding. They had little boutiques set up in malls or shopping centers. I stopped using the products when I moved away from their stores.
