Omnilux Red Light Therapy Mask

[ Edited ]

I don't typically ask for a Christmas present.  When my husband or I need something we buy it.  However, this year I'm thinking I might ask Santa Husband for an Omnilux Red Light Therapy Mask.  Before I do, I'd like to know if any of you use it or a similar one?  If so, do you see a difference in your skin?  I'd rather not invest $395 if it's not going to wow me.

Please share your thoughts.  Thank you!

@SurferWife Many people have posted about this.  There are also good you tube videos.  I honestly don't recall the consensus, if any.

I've been using a CurrentBody mask for almost 3 years. For me it has helped reduce redness and evened out my skin tone plus improved firmess. I use it everyday.

CB has just come out with a new second generation mask with more lights where three different wavelengths are used. The original had only two wavelengths. The additional third wavelength is sup[pose to reach deeper into the skin and that's good for deeper lines/wrinkles...I don't have those but I have significant deep redness which I would like to address. So, I'm waiting for CB to drop the price of their new mask soon b/c I will be buying it.

The new generation CB mask uses three wavelengths which are similar to Omnilux mask for men. They have thicker skin so that's the difference from their other mask.

CB new mask goes under the chin.

It's frustrating and I'm getting impatient. piggy waiting.gif

CB still hasn't dropped their price yet. I can use a $93 coupon code I have but that still doesn't cut it for me. Last year CB offered something like 30%-off for BF so maybe tomorrow their price will come down...I'm hoping!

@SurferWife ~ I decided to try the CurrentBody RLT Mask a few years ago too, got it on a good sale.  I was faithful for months, even bought the separate device for the lips.  During the warranty period, the mask went haywire, not lighting properly, so the company replaced it.  I was faithful with the lip thing too.  It fits like a giant pacifier. I was always concerned about my dental work and biting down on the mouthpiece.  Well it wasn't long before that device wouldn't charge. I accepted the loss and pitched it. $$$ down the drain. While I was using the mask, I think the overall clarity of my skin improved but it didn't do anything for wrinkles.  I dont remember of the lip device was effective or not.  I eventually gave up on the mask.  Being committed to an every day session of whatever it is, 15-20 minutes, doesn't sound like a lot, but it became a burden to me.  More $$$ down the drain.

I am currently using a NIRA Precision Laser Device in targeted areas and it's working much better for me. I'm done in 5 minutes or less.  Between the laser device and my under eye skincare, I've seen great improvement.

One other thing, the mask was a pain to take along when we traveled. I was trying to be faithful and not miss any sessions.  I wouldn't do that again,  I'd stop and resume when I got home.  But, I have been wondering about the Solawave.  If I ever go the route of facial RLT again, it would probably be what I'd choose for the convenience of use and portability (currently on sale on Amazon and on a BOGO on the website).

@JeanLouiseFinch

What's special about that Solawave?

I'm not seeing it on amazon. Must be sold out.

Thanks so much for that feedback.  I have a feeling I would not commit to every day, so it's probably not a good purchase for me.  My work days are long & busy so just doing my evening skincare routine is all I really want to commit to.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

@SilleeMee  I just started becoming interested so I don't know if it's special, per se.  As with anything, there will be pros and cons, but the reviews seem decent and my interest is piqued.  The price is easier the absorb.  One good thing is that the Solawave would be more convenient to use while reading or watching tv.  Not saying I'd ever do it, but I could take it with me and do it in the car if I wanted to.  The device itself provides low level red light therapy, uses something called a Galvanic current to help skincare penetrate,  provides facial massage and facial warming.  In all honesty, I don't know if the facial warming is a big deal or if it enhances the Galvanic current.  I like the idea of my skincare being driven deeper below the surface.  A drawback on the RLT, is that it's the lowest strength, somewhere in the 600's, but that could be enough for some people, and maybe I could be one of them.  I don't have major issues and am pretty content with my complexion and amount of wrinkles I have.  I am not looking for any miracles or to be wrinkle free, so I wonder if this little device that's about the size of a razor could benefit me.  🤷‍♀️

Oh, okay. I thought it was their mask that you were referring to.  Thanks. Woman Happy

Re: Omnilux Red Light Therapy Mask

@SurferWife , there's a couple of gals I follow on Instagram.  Trina Albus at Beauty Beyond 40 and Penn Smith.   They both review masks.  Trina reviews all gadgets; Penn some but mostly skincare. Trina tries them out and then gives her review.  I find them both to be very informative.  Trina has melasma so she talks about that and which devices she thinks may trigger it etc.

I have a Maysama which I love.  Six minutes.  Even I will make time for that.   It also offers pulsing light and completely covers the mouth so you don't need an extra device for that.

Right now Maysama has their sale going on, 20% I think, but also if you use code Penn30 you get an additional discount.  I also love their gua sha.

It has not made my wrinkles go away but overall my skin looks healthier, lips and around the eyes better.  I would purchase it again.  I don't know if I would go with the Maysama or the new Current Body that also goes under the chin.  On the one hand I like that the CB goes under the chin but on the other hand I really like my lips covered.
