I was just reading an article on MSNBC about how long you should keep makeup, particularly eye makeup. The main concern was bacteria contamination, particularly given where most makeup is stored in the bathroom. There were recommendations on how long to keep particular items. Anyway, certain hosts and vendors are always saying put the eyeliner on the inner rim - something I have never done and I would probably poke my eye out just trying. The article said the following about putting eyeliner there:
"Don't apply eyeliner inside your lashline, no matter how many times the girls do this on "America's Next Top Model." That messes with your Meibomian glands, tiny oil glands at the rim of your eyelids which help in the production of tears. If they can't secrete properly, you could get dry eye, optometrist Thau explains."
Just an FYI!
