So I can't, in good conscious, order anymore makeup lol so help me kick up my hair game. It's dry.  My husband says I have a spot in the back that is thinning 😒.   Can anyone make some suggestions for products from one or both of these companies.  Nourishing, moisturizing, and growth encouraging?? Not looking for any styling products.

Thank you!

I bought Olaplex 4 times, it made my hair very greasy the 4th time around. I end up returning it.

But before that  I used N3, my hair looked amazing. I am guessing, it was a bad batch, or the quality went down. It often happen with cosmetic/hair products. The first time around is the best quality.

@monicakm     Haven't you had recent knee surgery?    The anaesthesia and STRESS wreck havoc on your hair and skin.    I would give it a couple months for your system to straighten out.    di

Yes, I had surgery on May 2nd. And I am currently on my magnetically driven bicycle petals as I watch YouTube and read the beauty forum 🙃  you know I kind of hate to admit this but I'm not sure What kind of anesthesia I had and I definitely didn't know that it could play havoc with your hair.  I really don't think I felt any stress from the surgery. I have learned to love my surgeon (he told me I have really surprised him with my recovery / Physical Therapy efforts) already love my physical therapist LOL I had spinal sedation but surely I wasn't awake during the operation. I just know Dr Phillips said I'd feel a whole lot better doing it this way then going under traditional anesthesia.  I remember with the first knee replacement I woke up in recovery saying hellooo hellooo, I'm awake.  This time I woke up screaming in pain.  DH and I watched a knee replacement on YouTube a few weeks ago. Before they close up the knee they give several injections of a painkiller in the knee area. I think he forgot to do that this time 🤨

So, back to my hair, I don't feel that the surgery or stress of the surgery has impacted my hair. Maybe it has and I just don't realize it. It's been dry several several years. DH told me before my last knee surgery about the thinning spot on top towards the back. And I realize because of my age it's not as thick is it used to be. Just looking for something to improve it overall.

@monicakm      I was responding to my own experience.    I had been in an accident (not auto) that left me with 26 broken bones.   I am a "walking hardware store"......and it was a 2-year recovery.      I looked like h e l l  for most of that time (!!!)     Yeah, hair loss, and skin that looked like wallpaper paste....and some scars that look like railroad tracks.

OH YEAH!     Keep up your PT!   It really does wonders.    Glad to hear you are doing well.  di

OMGosh!  I am so sorry, I can't even imagine. Yeah I could see how that kind of trauma could cause hair and skin issues. This reminds me of something I read years and years ago. Always be kind to others as you have no idea what they may be going through or have gone through. I do my best to keep that in mind when interacting with others.

@monicakm    You have a great attitude!    And remember to keep your sense of humor!

I had jury duty a couple years ago...and TOLD security that I was loaded with stainless steel "body parts".    I was waved thru anyway, set off the the alarms.......and everyone behind me FLED THE COURTHOUSE.   I found it amusing....NOBODY ELSE DID!

I used the whole Olaplex line and it worked until it didn't. My hair became straw like. I could be reading on my iPad and it would rain broken hair. I am now a huge fan of hair oiling. It was a big game changer. I also use Amika Hydro Rush shampoo and conditioner as well as their dream routine. The difference has been nothing short of amazing.

@monicakm   Personally, I think ORIBE is overpriced and has a strong fragrance and a bougie brand.

That said, OLAPEX is a bonding product and not a deep conditioner. It dried my hair out really badly. Sometimes the drugstore has a better solution for dry hair. I've used the tub of Shea Moisture Mask for years (twice a week) and my hair is soft, shiny and no breakage.
