Re: Okay ladies. I have something important to talk about

I'd be nervous about recommending products to her this close to her wedding! Since she hasn't really used anything, her skin could be sensitive and she would not want to risk a breakout or reaction to something. I guess she should start with hypo allergic products  and ease into them.

Re: Okay ladies. I have something important to talk about

@RollTide2008 @Midmod   That is exactly what I was going to suggest.

Of course, keeping your face out of the sun, using a good moisturizer and avoiding alcohol and smoking are important.

But just as important is hydrating the skin from the inside, eating nutritious fruits and vegetables and avoiding too much caffeine. Drink lots of water  and not sugary drinks. Water flushes out toxins.

Having good genes helps too. I am lucky in the genes department and have been using a moisturizer since I was 12.

One more thing, sunglasses. They keep you from squinting and developing crows feet and frown lines. I have been wearing sunglasses since I was 12, because they were fashionable. I had no idea about wrinkles, nor was I concerned at that age.

Only in recent years, have I learned how they protect the skin around the eyes. Lines did not appear near eyes until my 70's.

At 76, I have a couple of faint lines at the outer corners of eyes, not visible crows feet and no frown lines between eyes.

There a few fine lines below my eyes. I have been using eye creams since my late 20's.

In a cold climate, when heat is on, humidifying the air  is helpful too. A bedroom vaporizer is good to use.

I haven't been able to give her more of the fine suggestions offered bu you ladies. She's been off these last couple days. But if she asks me anything, I'll tell her all I've read. If not, I won't. Course I didn't in the first place. She asked me because she wants to look nice for photos. Ty

Wash your face morning and night.  Any skincare will work for a 22 year old.

I think visiting a skincare counter like Clinique in a department store would be a great idea. Clinique is geared toward younger women so that is what I would recommend.

@monicakm & @ trailrun23
I like the idea of niacinamide also because I think it's a valuable item to start using early as well but I also think the Clinique counter would be a good place for her to start. She talked to me like she knows nothing of skincare at all. She also said that she has trouble just remembering to wash her face so I just didn't want to overwhelm her. If she asks me @monicakm, I'll tell her about it. I also use it. I'll mention that it's a good product for young women to start on at an early age. Maybe I'll have an opportunity to peak her interest. She really is beautiful. She has a good complexion but I can tell it's neglected. I bet with regular skin care she'd be a stunner.

Hi @ monicakm
She told me in a text she thought she was dry. And I think she is too...at least her skin does look dehydrated to me....

Re: Okay ladies. I have something important to talk about

My friend returned to work today. She had a blast on her bachelorette party weekend 🎈😄
But she said I would be proud of her because she washed her face every night 😁
She took the Elf SPF lotion with her but is still waiting in the Clinique to arrive. She likes the Elf; she thought it would be white and not clear.
She said also that she still had some Clinique her Mom bought her in HS & remembers liking it. So that was a good call from all who suggested that. Ty.
She specifically came to me to tell me all that, I didn't ask her.
She and her girlfriends wore her under eye patches as well. One of her girlfriends woke up with one in her hair, so funny 🤣.
Thank you all ❤️

What about Naturium. Most everything is under 25 and can be found at Target. A good moisturizer, vitamin c to start.
