Okay, I think I pretty much hate every single foundation! Grrrrr...

Hi Ladies,

I am typically a powder foundation girl. I really like Bobbi Brown's Illuminating Powder Foundation. It gives light-medium coverage and the shades are wonderful and I was able to get a perfect match. However, I occasionally want a little something more. Like more of a "real" foundation--liquid or otherwise. Well, I ordered the Tarte Amazonian Clay with the brush. I really like the ease of use. And I found that by simply going over my face once or twice with the brush I can smooth out any areas where I might have gone too heavy. In my house my face looks okay. However, going out and about today, I looked, well, like I feel like I always look with foundation on--that it's not really ME. I got the lightest shade and I felt like I looked a little marble-like in mirrors I passed.

I also hate little things about wearing a "real" foundation. For instance, I hate when I blow my nose or blot a little perspiration away I have a tissue with what looks like orangey make up on it. Then I think, is this crud orangey on my face?

I think I always feel this way about base products. I just want my skin to look like MY skin, but better. And nothing really gives me that look. I have tried lots of stuff. And even the ones that I like the best (BB Stick foundation, Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer, etc) are still not EXACTLY what I'm looking for.

I want my imperfections hidden. I want coverage. I want my skin to feel like skin. And I want it to be EASY to apply.

Is it just me? Or does anyone else feel this frustration with foundation products? This is why I turned to powder-type bases. And although I really DO like the BB one, I was hoping to find another option for those days I want something more.

Can anyone commiserate? And if so, have you found anything like what I'm looking for?
