I absolutely agree that the phone calls should stop. They are a 20+ year old remnant of old time marketing that no longer works. Actually, I don't know if it ever worked. I change the channel as soon as these cringe-worthy discussions begin. Please, QVC, stop these awfully awkward phone calls.

Hello, BlackLabLover. Smile

Maybe it would be best if QVC kept the testimonial calls. I mean, they're not hurting anyone or anything, and their might be people who want to talk to one of their favorite hosts or vendors. I once heard that people who are old and/or all alone (no family, no friends) like to call in because this might be the little human contact that they get.

How thoughtful and compassionate of you! And you're right. It's not all about us. After all, we can just mute it -- no effort there as plenty have mentioned. Others might enjoy listening to them, and to some it may mean a lot to have the opportunity.

Thank you for putting it in perspective and thinking of others. {#emotions_dlg.thumbup1}

Wow. I didn't expect this response. Thank you very much. Smile

Agree about lonely people. I was having a 3AM insomnia attack and an older woman called. Within 2 sentences she was talking about not being able to sleep since her husband died and thanked QVC for being her lifeline. The hosts were god blessing her and the call was cut quickly. I felt so sorry for her and sad that TV shopping was her only outlet for support.

I think it must have worked at one point. I remember watching something on regular TV (maybe The Apprentice) around 10 years ago. They showed the behind the scenes at QVC and whenever they had a call-in testimony, sales went way up. You could see it real-time.

Blacklablover, I agree about the calls. Sometimes it is pretty awkward. On a side note, I loved your YouTube channel and was so sad when I watched your video about Petey's passing. Miss your videos and I hope you and your hubby are well!

Thank you so very much Summerspast!! This means so much to me. Losing Petee broke my heart. He was our world. Life is just not the same without him. He brought us so much joy, but I hold onto my Faith that we will be reunited one day again. I hope to make videos again in the new year. I miss you guys. Thank you again for your kind words.

I agree.

I really don't care if they do the calls or not, and maybe they DO persuade some people to order. But the calls are screened; they won't put someone on who hates the product will they!? The online reviews seem not to be screened because there are good as well as bad reviews.

So true! I don't think I've ever heard of a caller not liking a product!! Always a positive review...which can't possibly be true. I wonder if they tell you to keep it positive? Imagine what it would be like to listen to callers complaining about the product!!! {#emotions_dlg.w00t}

What a great idea! Get rid of the calls. My grandmother, used to shop on the southern channel by the truckoads. She always would call in and talk to the hosts. So much so, that they knew her by name, Shoppin Charmain from Sherman Oaks! Geez.
