OP, I don't really understand what you are asking?

And just a friendly FYI,, it is argan, not argon. Argon is actually a noble gas. Smiley Happy

Hey Dolly. I'm not sure what you mean by replacement but Ojon Oil is basically the same difference to Argan Oil. It has alot of the same benefits Argan has. Helps alot w/dry damaged hair. Seems to be primarly used for your hair.  There are a ton of hair product w/Ojon Oil. Hope this helps....

When someone posts multiple qusetion marks after a question, are we supposed to answer that many times?  Are multiple question marks really more effective than just one?

Well they are not the 'same' product and likely have different chemical make-ups.  Ojon is from the (roasted) nut of a particular palm tree (its related to the 'palm oil' tree that is grown around the world for cooking oil and you'll see it sold as a thick red oil.) It tends to be solid at room temperature but quickly melts in hands to form the oil used for hair and body.  Because of the way it was originally processed, it tends to have a strong smoke/cigar/chocolate scent (and I'm not sure if that was ever changed, though Estee Lauder who purchased the company upped the amount of perfumes used in the products and decreased the amount of Ojon oil to help mitigate the smell which some liked and some found offensive.)

Argan oil is from the nut of the Argan tree, which grows in the dryer areas of Morocco, etc. Sometimes its roasted and sometimes its pressed raw. Its used for skin, hair and food. Both these oils, imo, are on the 'heavier' side.

Both oils have been used by local cultures for ages for their beautifying properties.  I don't know the precise chemical makeup to compare which is richer in which acids and vitamins, but I think they're both excellent healthy oils to use in hair and body.  It just depends on your personal preference.

I buy my oils from shea terra organics, but argan oil is available widely now.  Also in Indian culture, coconut oil is specifically used for beautifying hair and they have a whole ritual and history around it.  Both the palm oil and coconut oil have been shown in studies to penetrate the hair shaft (usually to promote the hair applying benefits of each by the companies selling them.)

Jojoba oil is also great in the hair and on the scalp and is lighter. (Its technically/chemically a liquid wax and very similar to our own skin oil, which is technically a wax.)  Also Camellia oil is having a big 'moment' now with the popularity of Asian skin care.  I'm waiting for almond oil to get popular again, it was Jacqueline Kennedy's favorite.

I LOVE ALL THE OILS!!!! Shea butter, marula, maracuja, you NAME IT and I have to try it! Try and find one that is produced on a low-commericial scale, benefits local communities and is fair trade and organic as much as possible and its a win-win.

@Pearlee, I don't think it's any more effective. Personally I find them annoying - especially when they are in the title.  In the scheme of things, I tell myself it's not that important.
