I have a GE. Only one that had a slimline and could fit exactly in the space. I have had trouble with it as well as my new dishwasher, new oven. My local fix it appliance guy and are are now best friends. We both discuss how things just aren't made the way they used to be. He says it keeps him in business. (He does not sell appliances) just fixes them.

I have a KitchenAid Stainless Steel French Door fridge with the freezer on the bottom. Will never buy Stainless again because it is so hard to keep clean. Also I don't think that you get sufficient freezer space when it is on the bottom.

Hi there! Oh I bet! Aren't they really high end? $10,000? I know Viking is really expensive too. Good to know! Thanks Jerseygirl1266!
And even those sometimes have serious problems.
In my nephew's home, their Subzero malfunctioned and even their own repairman ordered a part for several hundred dollars --- that did not fix the problem. Someone else found a fix and Subzero did not want to hear about the expense of that part nor the repairman's visit.
Yes, the refrig is back to working which is all good considering its cost, but I'm glad I don't have the space to put one in. No temptation.

I have a white Whirlpool side by side that I purchased about 10 years ago through Costco. I have never had any trouble with it except about 2 months ago the automatic icemaker stopped. Decided it was not worth fixing so just got a couple of ice cube trays!

Still have the oddball Kenmore side by side that came with the house when we bought it in 2001. I think it is a good 20 years old. It's an oddball because it only has ice (cubed or crushed) on the outside of the door. I've cleaned the ice maker once and it needs another. We decided to keep it as long as it was running. When say the compressor goes, we'll get a new one that also has the filtered water on the door.
