Re: OT: Ever bought on Ebay outside of US? China? Experiences...sizing...shipping...etc.

Yes, by error. I held my breath though. I never meant to make the sale with his person in China, but that is what happens when you get in a hurry and in a buying frenzy, LOL! I bought a tablecloth, vintage looking with embroidered cut outs. It came in about 10 days and it was wonderful. It is my favorite everyday cloth.

My granddaughter, and my grandson bought from China. The GD bought what she thought were Tom's from the US. After she bought she noticed it was from China as well. I think this can happen when you look around ebay for hours, comparing and deciding. It is the FIRST thing we look for now! Where it is shipped from! They took about 3 and a half weeks. When they came, they were good, but she thinks they were knock offs. But she wore them for a long time.

My GS was the one really hurt. OMG, he was 10 and had his sister buy him some action toy he was salivating to get. Everyday he would rush home from school to wait for it. It took over 6 weeks! They even filed a complaint. It did come, and it was broken in bits inside box. It was pitiful his Mom said to see his face! She was almost in tears watching him after he waited, and waited. I would have bought him one if I could. He tried to glue it back together. It was one of those rare sold out things kids want!! Not another to be found. It wasn't worth to even file a claim.

I have been buying a lot of jewelry from China and make up from Korea. I have had almost no problems except for 2 lost items both under 2.00 and with tracking information from my post office. Not worth the hassle of dealing with my post office. I have found them to be very concerned about how you like your product and how you rate them. Also, this OT but I have noticed that jewelry on QVC, HSN and JTV often say made in china and 925 (silver). Oddly that is similar to the stuff I get from China for a fraction of the cost. Oddly they even have some items that look like the TV companies jewelry. I no longer buy earrings from here because they are much cheaper from China and yes I should buy from the US but the way things are I am just cutting out the middle man and saving money. Sorry, I haven't ordered clothing but I would assume that they are cut smaller.

Call QVC and ask if they can add it to their next shipment. The Q will charge you the same s/h

Re: OT: Ever bought on Ebay outside of US? China? Experiences...sizing...shipping...etc.

I bought a "leather" wallet directly from a vendor in China a couple of years ago (I was so trusting then....).

It took several weeks to arrive and it turned out NOT to be leather and it smelled like an oil petroleum product. Also, it was supposed to have a dust bag with it and that was not included.

I contacted the vendor and found out they spoke/wrote very little English. I went back-and-forth with them and every time I received a response, it was the same response -- like they copied/pasted it.

Since I paid thru PayPal, I contacted them and my credit card was credited the entire amount + shipping within a few days.

Never again.

I have bought from China, and for the most part, my experiences have been good. As other posters have said, shipping takes longer, but that's to be expected. If you do decide to order clothing, ask for measurements. They will probably be in centimeters, but there are online conversion sites or apps to help figure it out.

I forgot to add that they can be fast and loose with their descriptions. I ordered a silk scarf from China, and when it arrived, I saw that it wasn't wsilk. I kept it because it cost me next to nothing since shipping was free, and it was still a beautiful scarf. I'm very happy with it.

I have bought several times from China, no issues at all.

Yes, I purchased a Shuemura eyelash curler accidentally from China. I did not read where it was coming from. It came within a week, had free shipping, worked great, and cost a lot more in the U.S.

I don't know a thing about clothing sizes there, but otherwise, I think it's about the same as here. Some vendors are fast (although certainly not Amazon-fast), some are slow. Most vendors are honest, some are not.
