OT: Can you recommend best bar soap for elderly?

I need some recommendations on the best bar soap for my 85 yo MIL. She's still bathing herself and she's only going to accept bar soap, no shower gel. I know that seniors skin gets dry and thin, etc. etc. so I'm looking for some recommendations on something that I can hopefully purchase in the local stores that will best care for her.

I threw some bar soap at her that I had on hand when she first arrived in December and it's about gone. Any suggestions on what works well??

Dove for sensitive skin is good. Also, if you can find a milk or olive based soap they might work.

Neutropenia "naturals" bar soap is glycerine based and very gentle, no synthetic fragrance or chemicals.

Frankly these days many bar soaps are formulated to be just as non drying as any shower gel. The soap dries out the skin sales pitch is old and out of step, but as long as people still believe it then the pitch people will continue to say it.

Dove is great and because it's been around so long she will know the brand and won't feel like you're trying to put anything over on her. Another inexpensive option which you can easily find at grocery and drug stores is Kirk's Castille Soap. Castille soap originated in Italy and its ingredients are pretty simple -- and none of them are harsh detergents.

There are some more expensive perfumed options too (Caswell-Massey, L'Occitane, Asquith & Somerset), but let's save those as a nice stocking stuffer for MIL.

Thanks for the replies. I'll probably test Dove out on her first and then see how it goes. And I love the comment that she won't think I'm pulling something on her, LOL. You must know her. {#emotions_dlg.lol}

When my Mother was in Assisted Living they used a Dove shower gel that was unscented on her, perhaps Dove has a similar product in a bar soap. Shower gel might be better in case it a bar gets dropped in the shower
