Re: OT - Anyone else unable to view QVC videos?

I had been having that problem with QVC videos for some time. Today I upgraded my AOL service from 9.6 to 9.7. When that was done I could access the QVC videos. Coincidence? Who knows.

That's one of the reasons I stopped using IE, and switched to Chrome in the first place. Videos were almost impossible to play with IE, and often froze or had to buffer every 5 seconds - what's the point of watching a video, then?

But prior to today, I had never experienced any video issues with Chrome.

Okay -- I just went to the TSV and the video played just fine. I'm on Safari (Mac) but I doubt that both Explorer and Chrome would be experiencing difficulties. Have you totally rebooted your system? Sometimes I have to do that. Always a last ditch effort, but it usually works. :-)

Thanks for replying! It's only on QVC that I'm having this issue. I'm able to see youtube, clips from other sites, etc. Just not QVC - it's so strange.

I just watched a different QVC video -- again, no prob. Just try to reboot -- I know it doesn't make a lot of sense, but it's my answer to everything. :-)

Actually, hope someone comes along who might have an idea of WHAT is causing the prob for you, and how to resolve it.

Hi, MarenSeattle! A computer reboot probably won't help since these video glitches are usually a result of either a problem with an older software version of the browser or of Adobe Flash Player, or the browser cookies/cache need to be deleted.

Thanks! I actually clear my history and clear my cookies, and usually that does the trick. But as I said, when in doubt (and I'm always pretty clueless) I go for the reboot. :-) So glad you came along to help! :-)

You're such a sweet poster, Maren.Smile You're quite welcome. I know how you feel about the reboot -- that can be a winner in many cases, can't it? With browsers, on my iMac, iPad or iPhone I clear the cookies, data, history, at least once a day.

Most websites don't need that sort of browser "housekeeping" to be done that often, but this one ... sorry, QVC, but this site is hands down the worst one for glitches.{#emotions_dlg.blink}
