OT- 60 Minutes Show re Retirement Community?

Looking for the name of the place.

I think the name of the retirement community had the name "Sun" in it. It was on several weeks ago and there was one with a waiting list because of all the sports & activities.

Thanks in advance!

Check cbs.com, I'm sure they have the details of the 60 Minutes episode!

There are a few Sun City communities. The one near Hilton Head SC I know well because my closest friend lives there. It is growing and they are building there constantly. However , I think the HOA fees are very high, and they don't get much service  such as they have to pay when they need a roof or the house needs painted and they have to cut their own grass.Their HOA fee is double what ours is and we get roofs, painting and landscaping included. I am trying to point out that they are paying for all those pools and clubs etc.

I think that there is a Sun City retirement community in Arizona, also.  There is a place called The Villages in Florida, too which, from what I understand, is a very, very large complex.

I believe the show featured the original Sun City in AZ. It's huge, with seven community centers and tons of activities. It's very old, with well built modest homes, but people are moving in and renovating.

Thanks to all for replying! We just downsized to a cape in CT and the neighorhood is too quiet. We have a place in Florida that is mostly working folks. I'd like to look into a retirement community that has activities and is  socially oriented.  The HOA is a good point as well.

Welcome to CT (???).

I live in Tolland County, talk about quiet!  It's a half hour in either direction to ANYWHERE, can't wait to leave.

I am looking for an active adult community as well, great thread!!

There is a Sun City in Florida.  It is south of Tampa.

The News Article was about Sun City. Arizona.

"Sun City, AZ is the country's oldest active adult age-restricted retirement community."
