Re: O/T so tired of the TSV being only $5 less than the QVC price

I'm not happy with theQ they let me go over credit limit, on the card, then refuse to apply it the net time easy pay, instead they have me pay for it on another card. They want the business but then play games with how they work. Not nice Q

I agree.

It's more like the offering should be called the "featured" product of the day that they want to push that particular day, rather than the "top value" for the day because the price usually doesn't really reflect any big discount.

The cosmetic TSV's are really disappointing these days when it comes to price. Usually something in the $60 to $70 range and more. What happened to all the cute little kits we used to have for around $30?

Then you have shipping and taxes to boot! {#emotions_dlg.scared}

Price does matter to me. Very much. I pass on things at Q these days that I might have bought before.

I used to think the TSV was like the "loss leader". It pulls you in to buy that and then you buy a bunch of other stuff too. It's sure not like that now. I remember when the daily deal on all the channels would be something at a really good reduction, now....not so much on any of them.

$5.00 less than regular price isn't a "special value," at least not in my book.

Re: O/T so tired of the TSV being only $5 less than the QVC price

I think some people miss the point of these forums. Via the forums we are telling QVC what we like and what we don't like. We encourage others to buy and we even discourage others. I'm really surprised they don't delete the posts telling people where else to buy the same/similar products.

QVC must be getting something out of these boards or they wouldn't pay the money it costs to maintain them. There are virtually no advertisements other than what WE post.

The fact that over and over again we post complaints about pricing and/or shipping means there is a better chance that QVC will take notice and make a change we consider positive. Not a sure thing but better than saying nothing at all. Some of us want to make QVC a better place to shop for US. We don't want to simply stop coming here because we aren't happy anymore. And I don't think QVC wants that either. They want to know why we aren't buying.

I think it's good for everyone to state what they like or don't like. And other posters telling them that they are wrong to complain, or are too poor to afford the prices, or it's been like this forever, etc. are missing the point the OP is trying to make.

It's a percent and has usually been ~15-20% for as long as I can remember. The TSV today is $17 less but it'll likely be only $8 more tomorrow as 'featured price'. This has been their routine for a long time.

Re: O/T so tired of the TSV being only $5 less than the QVC price

What was the percentage off? Saying $5 off doesn't really say much but if that was 10% or more off then I don't see what the big deal is. Also sometimes the TSV is free S&H but when it goes back to regular price that free S&H goes away. That is more than you find at a lot of brick and mortar stores unless the stock is limited and picked over - then you see some real bargains in those stores. I was in two shoe stores yesterday and they both had buy one get one 50% off (which would be a good deal) but frankly I couldn't even find one pair to buy let alone two.

I didn't get the TSV because it looked too clunky to me plus anytime they say it can substitute as a pair of slippers not just shoes that turns me off right away. For me comfortable slippers aren't substantial enough to be worn out except to the mailbox.

Thanks, couldn't have said it better myself!

There's very little price reduction because most habitual QVC shoppers are not very price conscious! Prices don't matter much, and they rarely bother to shop around. They shop here because they enjoy the medium, buy into the hype, because they're used to it, because they like certain brands and products -- not because the prices are competitive. That's why QVC rarely offers real sales or clearance prices.......and why they get away with the astronomical shipping and handling fees. Most of their regular customers don't care.

although you and I don't often agree on much, I completely agree with you on these points.

There is no incentive for QVC to do anything different in terms of pricing, coupons, sales, etc when what they currently are doing is working for THEM. The only thing I've noticed them do is increase how often they offer easy pay which truly is no real benefit to anyone but them because it gets customers to spend more money, money they really don't have at the time. Brilliant marketing scheme on QVC's part.

Totally agree! Another thing is they have so many of the shoppers thinking they are their buds or friends..and they buy it themselves..and all the reasons why! Like the old gift closet and gift the plumber etc.

The Easy Pay I think is so wrong..encourages so many to buy what they could not afford otherwise..and then when they start rolling in - it adds up..and then if a couple hit in the same billing cycle and they overdraft they are on here yelling.
