Mine is to try to lose weight. I have OFTEN been told that I look 10-15 years younger than I am but NO ONE has told me that I look like a size 2!!!!!

This morning she asked us to think of a word which would be a theme for our new year. I decided my word will be REGROUP. I have spent the last 5 months recovering from a fractured arm and subsequent shoulder replacement surgery.
I now need to set up routines for the new "normal".
Devise a new exercise routine for what I can do- less weight training, more cardio
Follow a healthier diet incorporating more greens and fewer calories as I can't exercise as much.
. Be more grateful for the health I do have, it could have been so much worse.
If I can support you in any way, please ask.
I am doing something similar with different body parts and working in PT to correct a 40+ year problem with my shoulders cause by being highly endowed and not having the girls reduced until 13 years ago. When I finally had less weight holding me forward none of the docs, nor me, thought of sending me to PT to learn how to stand up straight and develop correct posture and strengthen my shoulders from severe bursitis in each shoulder.
I share your goal of creating a new normal with regular exercise, yoga, meditation and group support, and a diet as close to vegan as I can do in my current situation (Ornsih Spectrum Program).
Also, one of my goals is to list 5 things I am grateful for each night, Oprah made this popular but it is an ancient spiritual practice.

I want to walk five times a week. There - I've said it, and now I'll have to do it!

Thank you so very much for the encouraging words!
I have always had a hard time letting go of things. Maybe because I had so little growing up??? Any how, I like your ideas very much. I just hope that I can do it. Baby steps is about it, not only because I work every day and am not in the greatest health, but because I agonize over relinquishing ownership of my things.
I especially need to work on drawers and clothing, shoes and bags. I have 2 good places nearby that can really use these things.
I also know that de-cluttering an environment helps to clear the mind!!!
I enjoyed reading everyone's posts and I want to wish all a very happy, safe, prosperous and blessed new year!!!!

It's not about losing weight for me, but I've got to further cut down on sugar. I see more dark chocolate on the 2014 horizon! Happy me! But sad me, too, because I'm abandoning my molasses experiment. I'll up the potassium some other way.

I LOVE New Year's Day (not New Year's Eve). We got a generous gift of cash from family so a majority of it went to paying off credit cards, so I am starting the new year on a great note. I want to eat less processed foods, so I am looking into some soup recipes to make and take for lunch this year. I am not thrilled with the shenanigans of the Catholic Church, and have been struggling for a few months now as to whether to continue to go to church or not. I went back a couple of times over the last 2 months, and I want to continue a strong faith life by going back to church and continuing to journal in my prayer/thankfulness book. I came to the conclusion that church is of the people, by the people, and for the people, so if I took a more active part in being a part of positive change in the church, that there is no reason I should leave ( I don't know what the process will look like, but feeling like I could be a part of change feels better than jumping ship).
On a lighter note- read more and start using the NO!NO!
