haleypie: My husband was born and raised in Spokane, WA. We lived there the second year of our marriage after he graduated from seminary. I loved it. Mad they closed Cyrus O'Learys though. That layer dip rocked! ;-)

They must be "intelligent". I would like to see all of the hosts use proper language, not scream, not say the say words over and over, not tell us about their personal problems, wear the QVC fashions on air all the time. None of them should be able to wear their own clothes on air.

Lol...a new CEO would be the best starting point for recruiting/hiring!

I am more surprised that they posted this add on Craigslist.

Most companies use multiple resources for recruiting, including Craigslist.

That's not very much money for someone working those crazy hours and everything else they put up with.

Plus you'd have to live in Pennsylvania. I live in Northern Va and have decided to spend my winters in Florida and the rest of the year in Va.

I'd have to stay in Pennsylvania throughout the Winter months.

Like I said, it's not enough money. I haven't worked in over 40 years, not interested. I'm too old and could never put up with all of the @#$% those hosts must have to put up with.

I don't think you have to be attractive to work there, just very, very affable (that I could do).

They'd take one look and say (in between laughs), "And you want to work here....why?"

How many of you have heard Jane tell the story of how they handed her a pencil when she tried out for the job at QVC and told her to talk about the pencil"? Come on. She's told it about 50 times.

I love Spokane! Is his family still here? Sounds like you've been back relatively recently. Cyrus's is gone, and so is C.I. Shenanigans!

I would never want to do it, but I'm pleased to see they mentioned building a fan base. Like it or not, the hosts are not just sales people. They are public figures who set out to build a fan base. All this is set in place to build "relationships" and become "intimate" with the public - to SELL. Nothing wrong with that at all. I think it's a good business model. And for some lonely folks out there, it's the only "company" they have. More power to them all.

The male hosts would then appear ridiculous in logo or in breezes....I don't believe they can do this and maintain a non gender bias for equal treatment. It's an HR issue. Regardless, if they are not selling clothes, I don't see what the hosts wear makes any difference.
