My son sold $500 worth of Amazon gift cards on ebay. The buyer paid via Paypal and my son delivered the electronic gift card codes via email. The buyer acknowledged receipt and proceeded to contact Paypal to reverse payment! Paypal refuses to help saying that since the item was not sent via mail the seller is not protected. Ebay refuses to help saying that my son has no "seller protection." We can find nothing in Ebays rules that state that this type of transaction is not allowed. I've seen StubHub tickets sold all the time with electronic delivery.
Amazon has now acknowledged that the gift codes were redeemed with the same email address that the buyer used. Amazon is investigating this futher but I cannot believe that a buyer can pull off this type of scam. Even with mounds of evidence showing exactly what happened, Ebay and Paypal don't care. Does anyone have advice for what else can be done? TIA!!!
