Nutrisse hair color #42 ( black cherry/deep burgundy)

I've used this color for years and try to stock up when I have a coupon. My hair used to come out a plum/purplish color. I dyed my hair this morning and it's now an orange color. Same color # on box and tube, color swatch on box the same but to my surprise by checking Garnier web site they changed the formula. A lot of ladies are not happy with their new more orange hair, that used to be more purple. Will be letting them know about this Monday when CS is available. Anyhow, just wanted anyone who may use this color that it is no longer the beautiful color it used to be. Not a happy camper.

Every time you color your hair you need to do a strand test and an allergy test.

This is a puzzle.  Wonder what would happen if you just tossed this add on and carried on as usual?

@Still Raining , the picture shown is what I used this time. Same color # and color name (picure of the girl is different). It used to be a pretty plum/ purple color, but this time, due to them changing something, it's more orange. It's now vegan. On line it said they made the formula thicker. Failed to mention the drastic color difference.

Yeah, no.

I too, have used my same hair color every month for over DECADE. There is no one i know who would do a test every, single time..,why when i have literally used it over a 100 times? Hell i probably didnt do a test the first time LOL

@ @catter70  this is HORRIBLE that they changed the formula on your color!. Thanks for tbe warning! I use Nutusse #40 Sweet Cola and due to recolor this week. I will look at the website.

Meanwhile what are you going to do?

I would be upset as well.  I have a different problem with Nutrisse Hair Dye.  I use the dark brown and it's not covering the gray as it used to.  Also, the creme developer when added to the color tube is so thick, it doesn't squeeze out of the plastic applicator bottle.  It gets stuck and to unstick it, you have to bang the bottle on the counter, then you may get a squirt or two, then the same thing all over again.  I decided to change brands and now I'm using L'Oreal hair dye.

Re: Nutrisse hair color #42 ( black cherry/deep burgundy)

Sorry that happened.  i've been thru it...my hair turned orange a few times using box dye.  i always used a Feria Level 7  dark blonde.   One time i used Perfect 10 on top of using Feria, another time it was Garnier Beige Blonde i used and then used some other brand.  that was so bad . ugh and i had a job interview too.  orange hair and fried.

the customer service line may have some suggestions. i always called for advice

Re: Nutrisse hair color #42 ( black cherry/deep burgundy)

@LizzieInSRQ , for now it will stay as it is. It's not a terrible color, but not the same color. I'm afraid it will fade into something nasty after washing. I'm calling Garnier on Mon. to complain. I checked on their website and there are a lot of very upset women whose hair has turned this orange color. Garnier is sorry about that. The box now says it is vegan with improved richer color and on the website they said they changed the formula to make it thicker. It also said to try Nutrisse Ultra Color dark intense burgundy-passion fruit. I just want to know what will happen if I put that on top of this orange. Anyhow, good luck with your color. Maybe google it at Garnier.

@catter70    jmo but i would not try to immediately box dye over it. idk how much help Garnier will be. they were not so helpful when i called them. one of them scolded me for using a different brand of dye on top of the Feria.  if you really cannot live with, have a salon fix it.

ETA: wow read over at the Nutrisse page there are many reviews from months past all saying their hair turned orange!!   the product should have been recalled!!   @catter70    hope their CS will sort this out for you!
