@fairydogmother Happy you're home and hope you're on the mend.
Five days w/o makeup and haircare...a dream come true. My rest from everything except skincare begins today until Tuesday! I'm comfortable w/o the frills especially since lockdown. No appointments and just family here and they've seen me au naturale all the time....well, maybe a bit of lipstain so I don't disappear against a white wall. lol

Well I for sure need eyebrows but other than that? Might just stay "natural" for awhile.
@fairydogmother So sorry to hear you were under the weather! But happy that you are finding your beautiful self underneath it all.
I did that when our unfortunate incarceration took place and found that after a little rest my skin is better than ever, and that I really didn't need most of what I was putting on--even though my look has always been 5 minute natural.
I really needed only a little concealer, eyebrows and mascara for going out and looking fine: My reincarnation after incarceration!
Home? I'm happy with my face and even my white hair! It really is a breath of fresh air and I know you look and feel great! And lighter! Best wishes for health ahead!

I mostly only wear makeup on Sundays for church anymore. I would wear some if I had something PLANNED, but otherwise, I'm not concerned about people I know seeing me without makup on. I do skincare daily regardless. But, no way would I want to go 5 days without washing my hair or at least wetting it down. I keep a curly perm so that it's low maintenance, but it still needs a little maintenance. More maintenance now that my perm has grown out of my bangs, but I'll fix that in August.

"incarceration" yep.😏 I'm just like you as far as needing eyebrows and concealer. Little bit of lip color if I leave the house. As always, you are the voice of reason and reality. 😊

thanks for the well wishes guys. Appreciate it very much. I don't mind sharing what happened. For six weeks I've had sharp intense pain in my right upper abdomen, just under my ribs. Got worse over time, went to urgent care earlier this month, nothing definite was found. Pain continued to worsen until last Sunday when my husband took me to hospital ER. I was admitted to the hospital for pain management and a diagnostic work up. My doc ordered so many tests! He left no stone unturned. They ruled out every possible disease, condition etc. Pain was handled with IV narcotics. Ultimately it was determined that I have a rib injury. Don't know how that happened. Dr says it will take a while to heal. Sent me home with oral pain meds which do help. I'll be fine. It is a relief to know that I don't have anything scary going on. God is good all the time.

Bless your heart. I hope all is well at this point or at least going in that direction. My mother was in the hospital during the same time you were.
I can easily go 5 days with no makeup or washing of the hair. Unfortunately I am not the type to put on a face of makeup if I'm not leaving the house . My hair is so dry, cut Just Right and the products I use on it keep my style for days and days on end. All I have to do is floof it with my fingers. I'll be washing it today. My minimal face consist of a lip tint and Skin Care. Now, if I had to go 5 days without skin care LOL that's a whole other story. If you're not already, get well soon!

as I mentioned, I was able to shower and wash my hair in the hospital. Yeah going five days would've been bad 😳

Happy to hear you are on the up and up! I take a make-up break every now and then, I am sorry you had to do it the hard way! I think my skin is better for it!
However, I will admit I don;t go out when I do it because, as I say, if I am out looking what I think is less than, I run into anyone I have ever dated!
Glad you are out of the hospital!
