Nick Chavez serum

Should this serum be applied to scalp and hair or just hair?  Also, wet or dry?

I have thinning hair and need something to help!!

I have a sample of the serum that came w/ a NC kit. I've tried using it on wet hair, after my hair is dry & styled...either way, just a drop or 2 left my hair oily and dirty. I tossed it. His Velvet Mesquite Restoring Spray and Velvet Mesquite Styling Gel will definitely add volume and protect hair from heat styling, coloring, any other damage (the mist).
