I think for being a business partner with Nick, they did a beautiful job memorializing him. They stayed right in the boundary of business, yet friend of the company. Seeing his pictures made me teary.
I was so surprised at all the other things he did! I knew about his beloved horses, but music? dancer? writing jingles for commercials? I know they said more but wow, what a busy man!
I always wonder how people like him who are so multi-talented, fit all that into one life. Just his salon and hair care was a full time job! He must have had more hours in a day than me LOL
Mary Beth was the perfect host to do this show. Nick's business will live on, and I actually like Robby, the new on air person. He clearly has been working under Nick for a long time. I saw some of the mannerisms and heard some of the things Nick used to say. Very friendly and polite.
There will never be another Nick (who could, at times, get pretty wild and funny on air) but his legacy will live on.
It's heartbreaking he is gone. I love that he lived his whole life by what his mother told him. He used to say it all the time on air his Mom telling him "make sure it is affordable".
From all he has said about her, Nick was a Momma's boy and he loved her dearly. He was a good brother to his siblings too. Seeing his sister there was nice. Must have been hard for her.
RIP Nick. I hope your are hugging your Mom again.
Well said...I felt the same on all.
It is heartbreaking that Nick is gone "too soon" as MaryBeth said...he surely will be missed, there was no one like him on air. He seemed like a good soul, a bright light & seemingly well loved by many.
@gabstoomuch Lol...I too often wonder when I hear of these people who do so much, when I have trouble fitting in the basics of life most of the time! "He must have had more hours in a day than me"...lol, sometimes I feel that way about those that accomplish so much in so many different areas.
To those that said it's a money grab etc...at first I was watching thinking, wow...how nice they did this...then realized, oh, of course...they have to sell what's in stock and quickly pass the baton and carry on the legacy. And that's ok. QVC could never use air time to not sell, it just wouldn't be good business for them. I agree, Mary Beth was THE host to do this, for so many reasons, among them...she has the heart for it, and truly loved Nick. She could sincerely speak to this, and also is a polished professional.
All in all...of course it was mainly done to sell product and carry on the brand...that was necessary and it was tastefully done. I do think, as someone suggested...it would have been great if a % of sales in this show could have gone to pancreatic cancer or some charity in Nick's honor, but who knows what all was involved and if that was possible.
