Is Mary Beth doing a tribute to Nick Chavez at 1PM today?

It would be nice if it was an actual tribute instead of just another way for QVC to make money. Maybe they could hold off selling for just an hour and talk about the man.

"After 2+ decades of making women look and feel beautiful at QVC, we are honoring Nick Chavez’s legacy of love Thursday, 1pmET! Favorite products and new products will be shown as well as a lot of video/photos and special guests! Don’t miss it!"

it's nice - and appropriate - they're doing this.  I hope MaryBeth brings big hair to her show.

Unfortunately, she didn't.  Oh well!

Here she is with Joanne and Robbie:

And here she is with Nick's sister, Sandra:

I liked the video tribute but had to change the channel on the show.  It's just too sad listening to people call in wilth memories of Nick.  I actually cringe on all the customer calls-- regardless of topic/product.  People just don't come across well. Obviously just an opinion and more power to those that like them and enjoy calling in.

I don't have a problem with them selling his products.  They are a business that sells his products and both made money together.  Why should his company stop because he passed away-- unless of course that was his wish.  People and customers, myself included, like Nick as a person and his products.  Maybe they want to buy more to feel some kind of relief or pleasure or they just ran out of flocker. LOL.  No one is making anyone do anything.

Re: Nick Chavez Tribute

[ Edited ]

I have extra of the shine and texture.  It,s not new.  I love his products for my thin hair.  I wish they would do more of a tribute, then selling.

I have brought a new product on his website.  They may show it here.  It revives your hair like a dry shampoo, but it is a wet spray. It,s called REDONE RE ACTIVATING SPRAY..

This man naturally is not Nick.  To me doesn,t have a personality, but it might be because his first time.

I love Nick,s mequite serum.  Amazon wants 70 something for it.

marybeth's hair doesn,t look that great today.

The one item I never liked is the Flocker, but it is popular.

So sad, miss Nick.

I also have the hair spray they are showing as new.

Now showing leave in hair conditioner as new, never shown.

I went to my stash and have it.

Am I missing something?  New packaging?

It would be nice if they made a contribution for each item sold to a cancer foundation. This is not a tribute but a dollar grab. Very sad when they  have lost their way.

I think for being a business partner with Nick, they did a beautiful job memorializing him. They stayed right in the boundary of business, yet friend of the company. Seeing his pictures made me teary.

I was so surprised at all the other things he did! I knew about his beloved horses, but music? dancer? writing jingles for commercials? I know they said more but wow, what a busy man!

I always wonder how people like him who are so multi-talented, fit all that into one life. Just his salon and hair care was a full time job! He must have had more hours in a day than me LOL

Mary Beth was the perfect host to do this show. Nick's business will live on, and I actually like Robby, the new on air person. He clearly has been working under Nick for a long time. I saw some of the mannerisms and heard some of the things Nick used to say. Very friendly and polite.

There will never be another Nick (who could, at times, get pretty wild and funny on air) but his legacy will live on.

It's heartbreaking he is gone. I love that he lived his whole life by what his mother told him. He used to say it all the time on air his Mom telling him  "make sure it is affordable".

From all he has said about her, Nick was a Momma's boy and he loved her dearly. He was a good brother to his siblings too. Seeing his sister there was nice. Must have been hard for her.

RIP Nick. I hope your are hugging your Mom again.

Well said...I felt the same on all.

It is heartbreaking that Nick is gone "too soon" as MaryBeth said...he surely will be missed, there was no one like him on air. He seemed like a good soul, a bright light & seemingly well loved by many.

@gabstoomuch Lol...I too often wonder when I hear of these people who do so much, when I have trouble fitting in the basics of life most of the time! "He must have had more hours in a day than me"...lol, sometimes I feel that way about those that accomplish so much in so many different areas.

To those that said it's a money grab etc...at first I was watching thinking, wow...how nice they did this...then realized, oh, of course...they have to sell what's in stock and quickly pass the baton and carry on the legacy. And that's ok. QVC could never use air time to not sell, it just wouldn't be good business for them. I agree, Mary Beth was THE host to do this, for so many reasons, among them...she has the heart for it, and truly loved Nick. She could sincerely speak to this, and also is a polished professional.

All in all...of course it was mainly done to sell product and carry on the brand...that was necessary and it was tastefully done. I do think, as someone suggested...it would have been great if a % of sales in this show could have gone to pancreatic cancer or some charity in Nick's honor, but who knows what all was involved and if that was possible.
