I am about ready to replenish my makeup and I need some help. You were all so wonderful the last time I had a beauty question with recommendations.
I have been using IT CC cream and eyeshadow and Laura Geller blush and eyeliner for years now.
I hate the IT CC cream now. Don't ask me why. It just looks funny on my skin the last few months and glittery (this is the original not the illumination) so I don't use it anymore and I just go bare.
My biggest issue is undereye circles which I know I am just going to have to find a color that works on my skin tone. I have no idea what I am or how to find one that works other than going to Ulta and trying out samples.
I am so not a girl and I know practically nothing about makeup. I have just grabbed and went my whole life but now I'd kind of like to get a bit more serious and grow up.
I was thinking of trying LG baked and brighten foundation that comes in one of her kits that I like. For a late blooming newbie who has the basic skills and not much else, what makeup line would you recommend?

Do you have a sephora near you? If you do go there for a start. They will work with you and give you all the samples you need to try products. Go to a large department store and talk to the makeup people. I know they will try to sell you, but just try a few products. They will also give you samples. I have learned over the years what works for one person does not work for all.

@Janey2 I think our mall does have a Sephora. I forgot about them. That's a good idea too. Thanks!

A good first step is go to somewhere like Sephora and stripe up your hand. Don't worry first about of type of product, get the color. One of them will be invisible and match. Then you can go for type of product. Same with with blush, pick a selection, including ones you never look at. Some will be clown like or dark or muddy, but one will sing. Pretty new you!

@Still Raining Thanks! I've heard all different places to swipe and match foundation. Are we talking the back of my hand as the best place to do it? I've heard arm and inside wrist too.

@Laura14I agree with the others, see if you have an Ulta or Sephora near you to be able to try different products. I am right with you, my IT CC isn't doing the job anymore. I'm going to try Bare Minerals, Tarte and Mally.

@MandyG06 Tarte is on my list too. My sister and nieces are in love with that line. I don't know much about it.

I don't think there is one single makeup line that I'll recommend. Each brand has its strong products and weak products.
Since you don't like the IT CC Cream, you can just focus on searching for the right foundation. (I don't like the IT CC Cream either). My go-to was the Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous foundation, but they discontinued that. So, I'll have to search for a new foundation after I am done with my only tube of Reday Set Gourgeous. But the new Covergirl Trueblend Matt Made has really good reviews. And I would love to try it after I use up my existing foundations.
And since you have undereye circles, I would definitely recommend using concealer. Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer does a great job.
I do use LG's balance and brighten foundation, but I onlly use it after my cream or liquid foundation. It does not offer enough coverage on its own. You can probably keep using the LG's blush and eyeliner if they work for you. For eyeshadows, I am really impressed by Wet n Wild. I have highend eyesahdows in my collection, and surprisingly, I reach for Wet n Wild most of the days.

If your main concern is under eye circles, why not just use a little concealer and skip the foundation? I prefer a natural look and use concealer/blush/IT bye bye pores powder.

Thank you @momoftwo2007! I have written these down to go look for them. I love the LG products I have which is why I thought I might branch out more in her line. I have always done Covergirl most of my life until I decided to buy some more prestige brands to see what I am missing, if anything. I will go back and see what they have been up to.
