New Dior Backstage foundation...

Has anyone here tried this?  I am wanting this foundation as it’s lightweight and that’s what I love to wear. I’ve watched several videos and it seems well liked. Every video it says it’s buildable. TIA

Dior's New Backstage Collection Launches With Face & Body Foundation in 40 Shades

UPDATE (June 7, 2018): Red carpet events must be nerve-wracking enough, being photographed from all angles no matter what unflattering lighting you may stumble into. Now make that a wedding — a royal wedding no less — and those stakes just escalated sharply. Dior Beauty's Backstage Face and Body Foundation has yet to be released (June 15 is the date, so it's coming up soon) but it's probably run the gamut of foundation-testing rigors that no other foundations have before.

Case in point, according to Dior Beauty's Creative and Image Director of Dior Makeup Peter Philips, this is the foundation that Daniel Martin used on Meghan Markle for the royal wedding. Pretty risky to use a prototype beauty product for what is quite possibly the most-photographed wedding in the world, but Martin has worked with Dior Beauty before so it's entirely likely he wouldn't have used it on the now-Duchess had he doubted its performance.

Love make up companies who recognize there is a market for the beautiful diversity of our country.  I almost never wear foundation but I'll check out Dior on my next trip to Nordstrom.

Re: New Dior Backstage foundation...

It's about time more cosmetic companies are offering this many shades.  I am sure this is a remarkable product by Dior.  I will have to check it out but for now I wear my Laura Mercier oil-free tinted moisturizer.  Let's my skin shine through (I don't build up) and it is an excellent product too.  :catvery-happy:

@wvumountiefan @islandgrrl @SahmIam - I think it would be best to go to Sephora for a color match.

I was looking on the Dior website and found color swatches. Pricing at $40 is not bad. You can also purchase it directly on Dior website. Too bad it's not sold at Nordstrom yet.

@Chi-town girl

I'm excited to go to Sephora to take a look! For reasons I can't totally explain (finally having the right skin care?) my skin is the best it has ever been.  I very rarely wear foundation anymore.  Also, because I have an atypical dark olive skin color, it has always been hard to find a good match.  This Dior line looks nuanced enough that I might even be able to have a summer shade and winter shade!

Re: New Dior Backstage foundation...

I went to sephora to return my bare pro foundation that made me look dry and unnatural (I am combination/oily at times).   I wanted to check out the Dior foundation and a Dior rep was there singing its praises. She kept saying look at me....I have never had such flawless skin......it did not look flawless and was kind of cakey.  She matched me to a 2 neutral and I think a yellow might have been better but it is okay.  This would not be for dry skin.  It looks fine on me but not doing cartwheels. It went on easy, dried reasonably fast to a matte finish.  I would say one coat is light to medium coverage which is fine because I don’t want to look like I am wearing a mask.   I took mirror outside and you can see I have on makeup.  The reviewers on you tube said it did not settle in lines and was undetectable but it does and is but not as bad as some others.   I am saying it is okay for mature combination oily skin.  I did not use a primer under it just my spf 30 moisturizer by perricone.
