New Beauty or Birchbox? Anyone try this Program?

I used to buy the NB test tubes long before they partnered up with QVC and loved all the products because they were things I'd like to try but usually too expensive in dept stores. Then they buddied up with QVC and now carry products that only are carried at QVC. that leaves out a lot of stuff they advertise in the magazine. I paged through the next issue at B&N and saw the next batch. I would not buy 85% of them in full size.

In the last tube, I got 2 Dalton lipbalms and they were horrible!!! sticky,tacky,ugh. They gave me an extra called Patti's Pout with some note that it was included as a gift due to a scratch on something. I think they were just trying to dump inventory since she is no longer there. I only liked D Gross glow pads, inner grace and sample of Tarte mascara. The rest IMO was junk.

Anyway, I wondered is anyone had signed up for Birchbox and if so are happy with it. The vendors on their site looked very interesting. July's box had a sample of Nuxe Huile dry lotion, wghich QVC had 1 presentation on a long time ago. That is a very high end line and I would love to try a sample of that.
