New Beauty Routine Isn't So Beautiful :o

For the last 2.5 years or so I've been using a product called NightSkin and for the most part, have been happy with it but it doesn't seem to be helping brown spots. Maybe it's just keeping them from getting darker. Here is a list of the ingredients:

  • Retinyl Propionate- enzymes in the skin change this form of vitamin C to retinoic acid which improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, skin discoloration and skin tone.
  • Glycolic Acid -a gentle peel for the skin, removing layers of dead skin and revealing a smooth, youthful surface. Also contributes to increased collagen production, and helps the skin moisturise itself.
  • L-Ascorbic Acid -vitamin C with potent antioxidant properties to fight free radical damage. Also increases the production of collagen.
  • Licorice Extract- contains glabridin which is a natural holistic skin brightener. Decreases brown and aging pigmentation in the skin.

My skin was nice, get compliments on how nice my complexion is, etc, but, I could see very tiny fine lines (with the magnifying mirror) all over my face. Almost like scratches. And yes, I used a moisturizer, Olay Regenerist, over the Nightskin. Wash using African Black Soap. NightSkin is expensive. $50 plus shipping for 1 oz.

So, I decided to try something else. For 2+ weeks I've been using the following in this order: Wash with ABS,Avalon Organic's Vit C Serum, Alpha Hydrox Souffle` (in the AM) and Alpha Hydrox Retinol Night ResQ (PM), Olay Regenerist moisturizer. I also use Olay's Microdermabrasion(?) and activating serum 2-3 times a week.

WHERE I'M SEEING THE (NOT SO GOOD) DIFFERENCE IS WHEN I APPLY MY MAKEUP. It's not going on as smoothly and my pores are larger {#emotions_dlg.scared} Any suggestions (other than go back to what you were using)? Aren't the products I'm using now supposed to be the important ones for exfoliated, clear and younger looking skin? Oh, and my face feels..."thicker"??, if that makes sense.
