Need an eyeliner for sensitive eyes

Lately my Wet n Wild eyeliner has been bothering my eyes.  I've also used Stila until it became too "smudgy". What type of liner for sensitive eyes is working for you?  I only use pencils.  Cruelty free. I'd like to forego eyeliner but I need it.  Can't stand myself without it.  Any help would be appreciated.

@MoJoV @Do your eyes burn, itch, look red? It would be good to know this. You could be having an allergic reaction or you could be having irritation. This could make a difference. The first thing to do is to find a list of the full ingredients in both liners. The second thing to do is to look for liners that contain nine of those ingredients ir ingredients noted as being very similar to them chemically.

Wet N Wild Kohl Eyeliner ✅Pencil in Black.

Ingredients

Beeswax/Cire d'abeille, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax/Cire de carnauba, Ceresin, Petrolatum, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Phenoxyethanol, Sorbic Acid, Mica, Ferric Ammonium Ferrocyanide/CI 77510, Iron Oxides/CI

Ingredients

@MoJoV  PHENOOXYETHANOL IS YOUR MOST LIKELY CULPRIT. It is classified as an irritant, it is also  linked to allergic contact urticaria and dermatitis.

Physicians Formula and Wet N Wild are owned by the same company.

Clinique does make great hypoallergenic products, but aren't cruelty free.  I was going to suggest Stila unit I read it was smudgy.

Re: Need an eyeliner for sensitive eyes

@MoJoVWhich specific WnW eyeliner have you been using and having a problem?

Another bad ingredient in the ingredient list of that WnW eyeliner is carnuba wax, @Mindy D.  It may not be a common "allergen" but it's been proven to cause severe irritation by clogging and damaging the oil glands(ducts) on the eyelid margin, causing itrritation and dry eye.  Even worse, over time, it can lead to vision loss.

Think about it, carnuba wax is used in many long lasting car waxes.  It may be good for car paint, not for eyes. Many eyeliners use microcrystalline wax instead of carnuba now, as they should, it's 2021.

CiPolybutene. May cause skin irritation according to one chemical evaluation. It might not cause you any sensitivity though. Clinique is known for being good for sensitive persons. It's not very expensive. I just ordered one from Ulta but I have not tried it yet. Butene and it's chemical relative, so to speak, are  also toxic if you eat them. QVC also sells this pencil.

Re: Need an eyeliner for sensitive eyes

I use brown eyeshadow with a liner brush, so if you have a shadow that works for you, maybe try a darker color with a liner brush.
