Need a recommendation for lighted makeup mirror

I've decided that the makeup mirror I'm using now has done all it can do. It's time for a new one and I'm treating myself at Christmas time. If you ladies have any recommendations, I would appreciate hearing them. There's actually quite a few locally that I've seen but I don't know if they are any good. I want a nice one not too expensive but not too cheap either. It needs to be rather small at the base, not like those big square ones I see with the lights all around. I want it to be electric, not battery operated. I need for it to be a pretty strong magnification . Anyone know where to find anything like that that's well made? Thank you so much 😊

Re: Need a recommendation for lighted makeup mirror

I bought my daughter a Conair lighted mirror years ago.  Mirror is oval shaped.  Two sided (magnifies) and the base is small and round.  Still like new.  Works great.

Love your explanation... "it has done all it can do!" Too funny

The one I have and like fairly well is by "Simple Human" ... it magnifies and the light from it is great.

'However, it IS chargeable and a long time ago lost the ability to hold a charge. So I keep a USB port adapter plugged into the outlet and leave the mirror plugged in all the time.

My Next makeup mirror will (hopefully) do much more...such as make me look 20 years younger and beautiful! LOL

Re: Need a recommendation for lighted makeup mirror

My makeup mirror is a 10X magnification. It is an Irving Rice. The company does not seem to exist any longer. I checked Neiman Marcus website. Their lighted mirrors are Simplehuman brand. If I were you, I would look at them. They have the small base and are charged by USB, so no batteries to replace. The price may be more than you would like, but you could read about the features. Knowing their features could help select a better product.

Irving Rice mirrors were made by the same process as eyeglass lenses. They did not distort and were balanced. That is important. My mirrors are about 25 years old and working like new. I saw some on eBay, but they were not good ones and not lighted. Good luck in your search. It has been my experience that a good mirror and good quality brushes are key items in applying any makeup.

Thanks all!! I agree that a good mirror is key!
Doesn't it seem like quality is harder to find than in the past? As soon as I get time today I'm going to look into all your suggestions. TySm

The one my daughter has uses batteries.  I bought it at least 4 years ago, maybe more.  Still has the same batteries in it.

CONAIR makes a  corded electric (7X) double-sided magnification lighted oval mirror. That's unusual b/c most mirrors today are cordless-rechargeable types or ones where you put batteries in them.

Conair Lighted Makeup Mirror with Magnification, Oval Mirror, LED Vanity Mirror, 1X/7X Magnifying Mirror, Double Sided Mir...

@SilleeMee
That's very similar to the shape of mine. Is the light very bright?

@Midmod

I don't know how bright it is b/c I don't have it.

I was just giving you a rec for an electric mirror. BTW, there are over 10K reviews for that mirror over on Amazon. That's where you might find an answer.Woman Happy
