Need a nude lipstick for a fair-skin woman

I would love to be able to wear a nude lipstick or gloss while playing up my eyes. An Estee Lauder SA told me that I could not wear one because I am fair, and it would wash me out. That is probably true. (I have dark brown hair, light blue eyes and fair skin with pink undertones.) But I am wondering if any of you ladies with coloring similar to mine have had success wearing a nude lipstick. If so, please let me know what brand and shade you are wearing. I might be able to pull it off if I find a shade with enough pink and shimmer in it. Thanks!
