I have had great luck recently with the new Estee Lauder "Color Envy" line - tumultous pink is a vibrant shade that lasts for hours. I also have a paler pink one called Powerful that also lasts but not as long as the brighter one. This lipstick goes on smooth and moist, lasts, and doesn't migrate as others do into surrounding fine lip lines. It's pricey but worth it for the payoff. It also makes my lips look smooth and "better."

The blotting trick is good, a lipliner helps, and no gloss makes the biggest difference. I love gloss so if I do use it, it's a dot in the center of lower lip only.
