Re: Need Good Skin Moisturizer

My dermatologists at Mayo Clinic recommend Vanicream.  I just bought the entire line, and have tried the large cream in the pump jar...and I'll say, it is verrry rich and emollient.   My skin is very soft and smooth.   I'll be using the bar soap, and shampoo and conditioner tomorrow.

I love the 25% Shea Butter from Perlier. It’s rich & emollient.

Another vote for First Aid Beauty. It's the only thing that works on my dry skin especially during winter. It does not feel greasy and lasts all day.

@OhioAngel I think I've tried them all, from high to low and pretty much everything in between. I've stuck with Cera Ve moisurizing cream with no plans to change. Available in most drug and even grocery stores. It's good.

Re: Need Good Skin Moisturizer

I make my own using only 3 ingredients! Shea butter, coconut oil, and sweet almond oil. After I’ve prepped everything I add Vanilla Essential Oil and Lavender Essential Oil then whip it up in my Kitchen Aid stand mixer. It rocks and is far better than some of the stuff you buy with all the unnecessary additives.

Cerave is always recommended on here but it has parabens, alcohol and petroleum.  I just cant make myself use it.

@chiclet  If recommended by most derms and so many posters here, it may be worth a try. There are very few moisturizers that won’t have at least one ingredient that’s not agreeable.

The Vanicream is really nice and moisturizing and fragrance free.  This is the one I've used:

A very affordable body butter is Soap and Glory Buttercream Body Cream. I actually like JM's butters but this is very hydrating and quite affordable.

I cancelled auto ship on josie maran body butter. Its nice but didnt do much for me like I had hoped it would and at the cost could not keep the auto ship going!

I need to find a good body cream/moisturizer that is not full of nasty stuff.

Does anyone have any suggestions?
