@TX-starlight   Sometimes the base coat and not the top coat are the culprit. Although I use clear polish, I use 2 coats of Sally Hansen hard As Nails or the one the says it's a "complete mancicure"...2 coats and then Seche Vite (avail. at CVS and Target). After 3 days, I apply another coat of the Seche Vite and being clear, I can touch up any chips if they happen. 

 

I do wear gloves for work and always gloves to clean house or do dishes, etc.
