I have always put a coat of clear polish or clear base coat on nails first.
Right now I am using JULEP *Be Strong* that is clear. It lasts about a week.
Deborah Lippman's *Hard Rock* is a clear but it peels off in sheets in about two days. I apply very thin coat and let dry very well. The few time I have used it I get the peeling.
I am convinced it was the Simvistatin that was causing my nail issues - all gone now.
I keep my polish stash in 2 clear plastic shoeboxes. More than enough polish for now.
Keep Calm and Polish On,
CAT

How nice to see this thread has been resurrected. Presently I'm wearing CND Vinylux in Tinted Love, a red based purple creme.

@gacat123 Some medications can definitely affect nails. Even without medication, we each have our own body chemistry. What works well for one person will not work at all for someone else.
If I didn't exert quite a bit of self-control, I could fill at least a shoebox with nail polish probably every week. Keep in mind that I only buy indies, so my options are far, far greater than if I were purchasing mainstream brands.

Waving at our QVC Nail Polish Thread Folks! <G>
I am about to remove the JULEP Be Strong Clear and re-apply.
I admit I like low maintain polish that lasts about a week to ten days.
Chipped polish on nails is not an attractive look.

I don't know why I have the worst time with this thread. I have to log-in a few times. LOL
Anyhow, I had my nails done Saturday and went with Gelish Wanna Share a Tent.

I must be in a "spring" mood today, lol! I decided to go with slightly different greens on each hand.
Pepper Pot Polish Private Idaho is described as a "bright yellow-y green with agreen shimmer and yellow gold flakies."
Rogue Sonoran is described as a "bright chartreuse with copper shimmer, scattedn holo and blue to green shifting shimmer."
I took a couple of quick bottle shots without and with flash:
