When I taught, I always had gel nails done and polish.

The owner told me that tools should always be sprayed with an anti-bacterial to prevent TB and other issues.

That salon is 30 minutes away.

Last week I went to a very nice nail salon for just cut, file, and polish.  Tools were not sprayed but put in a big cup with other tools to be used again.

Have they quit spraying now?  Does your salon spray?

If the jar contains barbicide it’s fine.

At my nail salon, the tech has a kit with the tools for each client sealed in plastic. After the service, the one time use implements are discarded and the reusable ones are cleaned and autoclaved before being kitted together again.

Are you sure that the nail tech uses them again?  Maybe she/he collects several sets before sterilizing.

My nail tech uses a packaged sterilized set per person.

The shop I go to uses an autoclave but the shops I previously went to used Barbicide or another solution.  The name escapes me.  Then they seal, bag and label the instruments.  I never heard of a disinfectant spray.

You are not offending me at all; much appreciate your guidance.

I went to a very pretty salon.  He put the clippers in a full standing cup of lose brushes and tools. 

When I got gel nails as a teacher, she sprayed each tool as she went. I didn't see him clean anything.
