Nail Routine?

Hi beauties! I have a question for those of you who do your own at home manicures and pedicures. What is your routine and how long does it take you? I ask because it seems like it takes me so long to do my nails and so I dont do them very often. Then I look down at my hands after a while and they are a mess! Any tips?
