Hi there Bagsers! I'm thinking hard and cruising the web for Holiday mani ideas -- so hopefully there will be something good to show you. Sadly, with everything piling up, I won't even have time to do my nails until Tues., so my current mani will have to hang on tight! Thanks for stopping by!

On 12/6/2014 just bee said:Sweet! This is a combination of two of my favorite things: The 50s and the 80s! Did you know there's a new radio station in ABQ? I've been listening to 94.5 FM -- all 80s, all the time. Perfect timing on this mani!
Hi just bee, I'm happy this mani pleased you on both levels. In the 70's, we bought a house with pink / black / turquoise kitchen decor, which just seemed "wrong", and I couldn't wait to change it, but I like the pink / black combination better now. No, I hadn't heard about the new FM station -- I miss the old AM station that played all 40's - 50's tunes, which I still love. I like a couple of Sirius stations that play 50's - 60's songs, but DH and I always comment that they play a lot of songs we don't remember from groups we do remember. The all-Christmas music all the time station that I still had pre-set from last year is now all-advertisements all the time. Who would tune in for that, I wonder? Anyway, thanks, I'll check out 94.5.

I must say I was surprised to read your ridge statement, I would never have guessed as your nails always look so nice. I really must get some Nailtiques Formula 2 for my ridged nails as they are getting more ridges by the day it seems.
Hi snickster, yes, this did take some time, especially with the striping experimentation, but I'd been doing simple mani's for a few weeks and was in the mood to play. I don't want to mislead you -- Nailtiques is great for correcting problem nails -- I never had nails to paint before using it, but I wouldn't say it will improve ridges. I've recently done quite a bit of online research and nail ridges are, basically, a common occurrence of aging. Although I will say, my nails tend to split at the tip along the ridges, and Nailtiques will help correct that problem. HTH!

Lola, this year the Sirius Holiday channels are scattered allover the spectrum. 17 is Contemporary, 76-- Classical and big choir pieces, 147 --40's to 60's Christmas. There's also Latin, Hanukkah, Soul and Country. I'd really prefer a channel that blended all the choices.

On 12/6/2014 DREAMON said:Lola this is just too cute. I think Valentines Day when I see this mani. I love it.
Hope you all are getting your shopping done. I am getting there but not done yet.
I am looking forward to seeing a Merry Mani!!!!
Hi DREAMON, good to hear from you! I can't get past Minnie Mouse, but yes, I can see Valentine's Day too, LOL. Shopping is getting harder and harder -- there's nothing anybody I know needs that they don't already have! We're just starting to decorate today since I insist each holiday has its day: Halloween, then DH's b'day, then Thanksgiving, then my b'day, then Christmas, in that order. (It's good to be Queen
).

This a charming retro look that I l-o-v-e! I hope you can post a festive look for us later this month.
Happy Holiday Wishes to you and DH.
Cynthia
Hi Cyn, my, you are a multi-tasker! I'll bet you, your GS and his parents are all most pleased with the sitting arrangements, and they can relax and enjoy their evening out.
Thank you, and best wishes for a lovely Holiday to you and your DH too! (And to your two cockers and one cat!)

On 12/7/2014 txrose said: Hi Lola cute mani this too could be a cute Christmas mani with the colors red, gold & black.
Hi txrose, yes, I'm finding that most mani's can take on another vibe with a couple of color swaps. Since I have some definitely Holiday-themed stamping plates though, I think this would be the time to use them, so that's the direction I'll probably go.

On 12/7/2014 lulu2 said:Hi Lola, I cannot begin to tell you how much I love this manicure. Pink and black has always been a favorite color combinations. One of my all time favorite suits was a black skirt with a pale pink, peplum jacket with black buttons. (big shoulder pads too)
I had a disastrous manicure Wednesday with bL the Black Knight.
By Friday morning I had 2 chips. (I NEVER get chips) We had a wedding Friday night, so covered the chips. BIG MISTAKE; by Saturday morning I had MANY edge and tip chips. I had to have a polish change as we had a holiday event last night.
Please, do check him with a holiday look, as I'm sure you have some photos of manicures of Christmas(es) past.
Aw, thanks, lulu. I always think Chanel when I see a pink / black suit, and of course Schiaparelli's iconic use of pink & black was the first to come on my radar when I started to become aware of fashion.
What an inconvenient time to have a mani that chipped! I don't rank Butter London highly in my experience, but some of the colors are just worth it.

Cyn, we were driving (40 min.) to my favorite destination resort in a nearby town last night for my "second" b'day dinner (kind of a long story, but they were closed on my actual b'day, so we had a very nice "first" b'day dinner at another favorite restaurant in town, on the day) and we listened to Sirius 17 and (I thought), 73. At one point, DH commented to James Brown, "Not really a Christmas song, James". I had looked online for their stations and some are not even coming on until Dec. 22, and 24-5 -- seemed odd to me, as well as their being so categorized. I have my own Christmas "mix tape" playlist on my iPod in the car too, and generally prefer those -- I always know I'm gonna like all of them! I agree with you, a nice variety, all on one channel, would be another good option. What I'd REALLY like is commercial-free since it's a subscription service!!

Hi Lola,
First thought? Good N Plenty candy lol [I hate black licorice]. Also stirs a vague memory, just can't think of what it is.
Would love to see a holiday design.
Right now my nails are bare in need of some TLC.
Take care Lola. Thanks for your post.
