~ NOTW ~ (Nail of The Week!)

Hello lovelies, and Happy Saturday!

I want to wish all you Moms a very Happy Mother's Day! I know you are loved and appreciated by your family every day but I hope they make you feel very special tomorrow.

This week's mani is pretty plain and simple (for me), but it received compliments and was enjoyable to wear. I later stamped all the nails with a faux-water-marble image which I did not like as well, so I won't show you that version. This one was inspired by one I saw on the Polished Elegance blog.

I began with my usual base coat of Nailtiques Formula 2,

Essie "Mint Candy Apple", 2 coats (this is very close to Tiffany Blue Box blue!),

Seche Vite top coat,

Stamped the accent nail with a paisley design from Bundle Monster image plate BM315 and Konad Special White Polish, and finished with another coat of S.V.

Have a wonderful weekend!

How do you keep your Seche Vite from shrinking your polish? I find that it shrinks my polish away from the tips.

Very pretty, love that color. I may try it for my toes.

Hi tigriss, Seche Vite will indeed shrink polish sometimes, unless you apply it to wet polish.

Lola, ever since you had on that lovely light blue a few weeks ago, I have changed my mind about using blues and greens. I just bought several Essie shades, one of them is Mint Candy Apple, has a drop of blue in it too, more like an aqua. Thanks again!!!

I am definitely not a fan of SV, I much prefer the Vinylux top coat. Takes a little longer to dry, but keeps polish in place longer.

Hi snickster, and welcome to NOTW! I think this would be a lovely pedi -- enjoy!

Hi Shelbelle, I'm glad if I've encouraged you to expand your polish horizons. As I said in my OP, it is the closest I've found to true "Tiffany Blue", but comparing it side-by-side, in natural light, still needs another drop of blue to match exactly ... still searching.

I'm such a fan of Seche Vite because it shortens the time between applying the nail color and being able to do my nail art. It used to be a much longer process -- like two hours vs. 10 minutes! Also, I've never seen anything that beats S.V.'s shine.

Lola,

Very pretty. I know I have an Essie pale green from a few years ago when Chanel had a popular light jade color. I'll have to go rummaging in my stash.

Hi there, muttmom! Despite "mint" in the name, this is more aqua than green, which surprised me. The inspiration mani was done with a "Pistachio" polish by Isadora, which I don't own.

Thanks for stopping by!
